Congress supports the abuse of fathers for failed relationships. It should not be a punishment to the father of a child/children if a relationship does not work. Then to consistently increase the support amounts is a travesty because when my children come during my visitation there is no disposable income to enjoy a movie or put a basketball and take them to the park. Not to mention i struggle to provide any sort of quality meal for them as well. But some sort of way the attorney general for the state of Texas feels as if I have an additional $250 of support to provide on top of everything else due to a modification. We are nearing homelessness no one seems to give a damn and reform this broken system. -

I've seen good fathers go homeless without any place for their children to live when they have visits. I've seen good fathers on the verge of suicide because they are consumed in debt.REPORT COMMENTS

The whole child support system is unconstitutional. I do not wish to recieve child support and do not think the courts should be making money off of it. Family law is nothing more than a money pit. Why is it ok to suspend licenses or impliment jail time? This is a clear violation of personal liberties. Mothers and fathers should have 50/50. If they dontREPORT COMMENTS

I support this, I have not seen my son in many years, even though i have tried numerous times unsuccessfully - Any time i require assistance I have to dole out cash for a lawyer, but if i miss a child support payment, they send actions which i have to pay for, no matter the circumstances for the miss, as well as no real out of pocket expense for my son's mother to have this action taken for her. Another thing that bothers me, are the women who use sex and babies as an income. My ex (yes i was a stupid teen) when i met her, was sitting around a table talking about how NICE child support was - I didn't pay attention, and a few months later I was hit with hey im pregnant, and I am leaving you. No care, no consideration for me. I had to move out of state, as i couldn't afford to live on my own, I had dropped out of school to get a job to take care of my ex, and my soon to be born baby boy, I was excited, I wanted to be wed, I wanted to have a family. She wanted an abortion. I convinced her not to, went to get a promise ring / engagement (not just because of the baby but because i knew she was my first love) But nope. She refused that after only a week. Cant force them to stay with someone, and its an instant money gain for her. She did it again 10 years after that, she had another child with another man, she refused to wed or engage as far as i Know, she neither returns my calls, nor allows me to see my son who is on facebook (mind you I am not a violent person, i have no court issues besides child support and nothing on my record besides this)I have done everything I can to rectify my lack of payment of child support and arrears. It is absolutely Unfair how the system is currently, and it needs to be changed.REPORT COMMENTS

JOIN FREE: Federal Class Action for U.S. Child Custody Victims - Friends, I just joined CAPRA as one of the lead plaintiffs in an upcoming landmark federal class action lawsuit against all 50 States and the Federal Government, because I qualify as: (1) a biological parent whose child custody was unconstitutionally removed without due process; and, (2) I have been directly impacted by that during the last four years, i.e., within the statute of limitations. This class action is on behalf of *both* types of "family court" -- for wrongful victims of divorce-and-similar-with-kids *and* for wrongful victims of child protection services -- and includes suing on behalf of ANY parent affected by either "family court" type. It's totally free to join, and the federal court relief being demanded includes the full restoral of my child custody rights under law, plus a nice share of the large amount in civil damages expected. Check it out! It just requires entering someone's referral Code to join, so PLEASE use mine - 42085JL619 - in the CAPRA registration form, located on the bottom of the homepage at http://parentalrightsclassaction.com Plus, check out their power-packed Legal Tips page for all parents fighting family court, too -- Wow!! Thanks!!REPORT COMMENTS

You should not have half your paycheck taken away to a person who makes twice as much as you as it is. Living on 600 a month is impossible, especially when you have joint custody and are still expected to but food, clothes and toys for the children. While the other party takes in all the financial benefits of having the children.REPORT COMMENTS

Completely agree with this, but there should also be a clause about fathers who are trapped into being fathers by mothers looking to benefit off the system. Also back child support should not accrue interests its not a loan that if paid the government will take the child away. How is a father suppose to catch up when every month the portion paid into back pay if becoming less and less due to interest raising the total amount.REPORT COMMENTS

The mother just plays the part of a "middleman". Why am I paying her to pay for the child? I am fully capable of paying all financial responsibilities and obligations concerning the child myself. The system that is currently in place needs major reconstruction.REPORT COMMENTS
