WHY WHY WHY WON'T ANYONE IN GOVERNMENT HELP WITH THIS ISSUE? BECAUSE THEY AREN'T THE ONES WHO ARE LOSING THEIR HOMES! THEY DO NOT CARE IF IT DOESN'T AFFECT THEM PERSONALLY. WHAT IF THE POLITICIANS, BANKERS, MORTGAGE LENDERS WERE THE ONES LOSING THEIR HOMES? I AM SURE THERE WOULD BE FAR FEWER LOSS OF HOMES IN THIS COUNTRY!

Help. I am a single Mom and the bank is taking our house. I put my life saving down ($200,000) and have been in a three month "trial loan mod" since 2008. I have never missed or late on a trial payment. I sent the paperwork on time and correct. They keep losing my paperwork. Now they say I am in foreclosure and will not accept my mortgage payment. PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!

I have been through the whole foreclosure nightmare as well. Through the whole process of trying to modify (which was a joke) I realized that the banks have absolutely no motivation to help anyone (but themselves to TARP money). The legislative branch and the executive branches of the federal government are in bed with them and the fed. The only avenue available to the citizenship is through the courts and lawsuits, both civil and class action. The basis of these lawsuits is 1. Unjust Enrichment 2.Fraudulent misrepresentation 3. Civil Theft 4. Coersion - just to name a few. How about "robosigning"? And that folks, was just the tip of the iceberg.

Chase follows their own rules and "doesn't go by government guidelines. We have our own programs." I applied for a HAMP, I qualify, have a stable job & income and am able to handle a properly modified payment. The CHAMP they offered me has my payment at 43% of my monthly gross income after I was verbally told I was approved for a HAMP.

for the economy to start the turn around, congress needs to look long and hard at what the banks are putting hard working american tax payers thru. i start a mod with boa over a year ago. faxed paper work after paper work. BOA is the worst, they lied to homeowners to put them in a direct path to foreclosure. BOA DID NOT WANT TO HELP ANYONE, THERE ONLY GOAL WAS TO ADD ON MORE FEES AND INTEREST CHARGES IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE THE HOMEOWNER HAD NO WAY OUT. Thus allowing the bank to take the homes and make a bigger profits. FRAUD IN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY WOULD BE A CRIMINAL OFFENSE. HOWEVER IT SEEMS LIKE THE BANKS LIKE BOA ARE UNTOUCHABLE AND OUR ALLOWED TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT.

I have been under a loan modification application process with the Home Retention Department of Bank of America since January of 2010. I have been receiving threatening letters from the BAC Home Loan Servicing Department for the last 2 months and now phone calls have begun. All of this even though my status inquiries every two weeks have been met with, "you are still in processing". I WANT TO KEEP MY HOME! It is worth $30,000 to $40,000 less than the mortgage balance and, in this market, would probably sell for even less. I, however, love my home and would gladly pay the trial loan payment for the next 3 to 4 years and have told this to anyone who I speak with at BOA or BAC. NOW WHAT? Please, Congress, help those of us thatr are cooperating but getting no where.. ,

I started requesting in good faith a loan modification back in Jan 2010 after I lost my job in Oct 2009. Since then I have been given the runaround by Wells Fargo. I finally was put in a trial period starting Sept. 1, 2010. The paperwork said that if I made my payments on time, my loan would be modified. I just made my 4th trial payment and cannot get anyone to give me an update. I am now over $20k in arrears and have no way to pay that and every month that I make my trial payments, I fall further behind. HAMP is not working!! I have owned my home since 1995 and have never been late until this last year. PLEASE HELP THE HOMEOWNERS!!!

We are about to go into Foreclosure with Chase Bank after having gone through the "Making Homes Affordable", Modification Program for the last 5 Mo. Do to the Economy here in ID., our Business stopped making enough money to make our House payment so I applied.Hadn't been late on a payment until this Recession developed. We finally after 2-3 months, found work in the Seattle area. I remained here in Idaho and my husband has been living and working there. We've made this sacrifice to keep our home. In the process, we were told we needed to be 3 or 4 payments behind in order to be considered for a Modification Loan. After we had missed our 3rd payment we thought they were taking us seriously but I don't believe that any more. They never intended on approving a Modification on our Loan. Our Loan was for approx. $148,000.00. Our home has gone down in value for 3 years to where it's worth 111,000.00 They turned us down for not making enough money. I thought that was the whole reason for a Modification Loan being approved? For the last couple of months we have been making enough but probably too much to be approved for the MOD. Loan. We're so far behind by now since the process has taken so long that it would be hard to make up the amount we're behind. Also, My credit went from being in the top 3% in the USA to dropping 30 pts. for not making our Mortgage payment while going through this process. So, after re-applying, since obtaining new employment they are still not satisfied with all the documentation we've turned in as many as 3 times. I believe Mon. we will be informed that we're going to be foreclosed on. They weren't taking my calls this afternoon! Foreclosed on, credit ruined and so far behind we can never catch up, not a nice scenerio. There's got to be some help for situations like mine and I'm sure there are 1000's of others in similar situations.

Why not COMPEL banks to deal with distressed homeowners with a big stick rather than ask for their VOLUNTARY participation and offering a carrot? Teddy Roosevelt would have busted these fat cats down to size. Blue collar man steals a little and they throw him under the jail. White collar man steals a lot, trashes the global economy and he gets to enjoy the fruits of his efforts as though it were all a blessing to the community. Since they are all dirty in this mess somehow, why not force mandatory modifications just to be sure none of them get away with thieving? Only way to be sure.

I understand the value based ecconomics behind the governments HAMP program - but it does virtually nothing to solve the problem facing today's troubled homeowners. If the government really wanted to help, they would have a program in place that would mandate that the banks MUST TRY to work out a solution for every troubled homeowner! A bit much... maybe, but mathematically possible and a win-win long term solution for our country's housing crisis.

HAMP and the other programs developed to help homeowners keep their homes is a joke. The banks are dictating their own terms and only doing things that benefit them. I think he government needs to step in and make these greedy banks disperse the federal money they were given and to regulate the process in a timely manner. The banks need to be held accountable for their actions or should I say lack of. A fed up middle class American

I just don't get it! We voted Obama in to take care of this and now he is not making good on the deal of taking the money from the rich and giving it to us. Everyone deserves to keep their home, it's a right! I'm on unemployment and now they want to foreclose because I'm not making my payments. Well the key word is "unemployment". I just need a job that makes $80,000 a year, it's not my fault that the economy sucks now, and I don't want to make less by actually getting a job, which is what would happen if I get off unemployment. How about some help for us unemployed guys Mr. President. extend the benefits for another year or until the you can raise the tax rates on the millionaires and take care of us little guys!

We are at the mercy of the banks, who refuse to follow laws and guidlines accurately. Since showing interest in the Modification program BoA has required me to escrow( with additional fees), even though a decision has not been made. I am being penalized for showing interest in a government backed program that is supposed be for the people. The banks need to be held accountable for their greed and mismanagement of funds and poor lending policies. Homeowners are being puppeted by criminals who make their own interpretation of what the laws are. The government needs to regulate them more closely and impose penatlies for infringements of the law. We are so worried about solving other countries' problems, we overlook that the banking industry is one the biggest problems and has demonstrated a flagrant disrespect to mankind because of greed and profit - this needs swift attention.

Nationstar Mortgage took me on a wild ride for 18 months leading me to believe my modification would be approved. Month 18 they deny it while I made the mod payment for 18 months which is 50% lower than initial payment. With that said, 18 months later my property going to foreclosure and reason for denial - property not owner occupied! Spouse and I divorcing and children and I have lived in property since day one and I am on the note an deed. Stop these mortgage companies from bate and switch! This is wrong and on the 30th of Nov my home goes to foreclosure!
