My fiancé is serving 3 to 23 for petty crime, which the police changed the witnesses 911 call and changed the license plate of the 911 call, when i called them and told them you have the wrong person , that is not my license number, yhey asked what is your license number, i told them the police changed the affidavit to my license plate number. Nowhere on the docket sheet does it say parole with petition, so 3 months are over and still in jail until verify homeplan , verify address , petition court, when they took him into custody , it was already 3 months on house arrest , how much more do you have to verify the address, you were just on house arrest from? ...all these procedures are why the prisons are overcrowded, people sleeping on the , put in cells with 4 others, inmates depression, and suicides, and inmates hurting , even some have been killed, while being in a cell, with conflicts.Nothing changes with the prison systems, it's not even about TRUTH anymore with the courts, I call the courts a BANK , Not where truth prevails, because the plea bargain is your only choice , to avoid a long prison sentence , even when your innocent, there is no choice but the plea bargain , because if your innocent and you lose the trial, your doomed for a decade of state incarceration. Very few ever win the trial especially if you have a court appointed Attorney. If they were smart they would release more on the chance of getting them to commit another crime , so they could receive more fines and costs $$$!!! ALL ABOUT MONEY!

A dear friend of mine was sentenced to 17 years for a first-time, non-violent drug offense. This is someone who has given all he has to others his whole life and made one mistake, and now he is locked up until he will be too old to have a family he's always wanted. Who benefits from taking 17 years of his life, to let him go after there is no hope to ever realize his dreams? How is it okay to destroy a person like this, while rapists and killers walk free? Something is very, very wrong here.

Such a said situation! I have someone who is extremely close to me who is looking at serving large amount of time. He had an addiction problem and made some bad decisions (non-violent decision). Not that I condone any of the mistakes made, and believe that some type of punishment is fair... But a 21 year sentence for drugs, when we have murders out in 5 years, and rapist out in just 6 months, really makes me question the foundation of our system.

To help reduce overcrowding, in our Federal Prisons, the Congress and President should enact the possibility of parole for low security inmates.

We need to stop throwing young fathers in jail so far away from their families. Move these men closer to their families for support not giving in prisons.

It's just not right for federal inmates to not have parole when state inmates have parol. They all committed the crime. Many of federal inmates are low security and is not a risk of harm to others. Help the debt of this country by releasing low security inmates and cut the cost housing them when the focus should be on Incarserating high risk inmates
