Hello, my brother is in the seagoville federal prison camp, he is very sick and unrecognizable, we were able to visit him since they moved him back from Pollack federal prison..and I must say seeing him was like seeing a walking dead man, it hurts me really bad because I feel he's not getting the proper treatment he needs, I do not know what's going on but is this how the prison system really works? -

Federal parole needs to be reinstated. Way to many non violent people in prison for longer sentences than state. Our judiciary system is broke. I have a friend in Allenwood prison and what he tell me what goes on in there is disgusting. There is a captain there who walks around and if one person does something he doesn't like he punishes 1200 people. No microwave for a month, that means you either starve or eat the slop they call food. no tv for a month and no so called gym for a month, no library. They must work for .12 cents an hour. These are first time non violent offender who should not be in prison in the first place. Shame on this country for allowing our so called justice system to get away with treating American citizens that way. And please I don't want to hear "well they broke the law". That is total bull. We all break the law daily. They pass so many laws you can't keep up with them. Read the book. 3 Felonies a day by Harvey Silverglate.REPORT COMMENTS

Parole and 65% prison time are both options that should be considered. When you look at the state, and how many are eligible for parole, and many get parole, and crimes are as bad or worse, but because they were charged by the state the option for parole is there, but for those who were charged as a federal offense, do not have the option. Young people make errors in judgment. There should be no black and white sentencing. When a person shows that they are a part of society, and is doing what they should to better their lives they should be on the outside, not in a cell costing a ton of money. Please bring back Federal parole. Do you really think you get the help you need inside? No. When you do a good chunk of your sentence, you should be looked at different, and held to a higher standard so that you can be considered for time reduction. I believe the feds hand out way too much time for selling method and merly possessing a gun after getting a felony at the age of 18 for having a friend's oxy codone. Give people a chance to reform themselves. Prison is not the place to do that, with parole, you have more access to treatment and ways to get help. If you don't follow directions, back in ya go, but at least give people the chance like in state sentences. More and more people are getting federally indicted, and it's a very common thing. Bringing back federal parole would be a great thing. My sister received a 20 year sentence which is a ridiculous. She is a non-violent drug offender who deserves a second chance to reclaim her life at a decent age. I agree she needs to to some time but 20 years is a harsh sentence for someone that has never been in trouble before.REPORT COMMENTS
