You can not describe this illness you have to see it and the day to day suffering with no end. As a caretaker all I can offer are clean buckets ready for the next round, a loving touch and the determination to make a difference. My biggest obstacle is the insurance company and doctors. A insurance company that doesn't care and doctors who are only now starting to educate themselves in regards to this illness. It has been along 12 years for us.REPORT COMMENTS

I have had gastroparesis since August of 2014. I am nauseous 24/7 trying to get my insurance to cover an EGD with Botox because with the Botox I get about 12 weeks of relief. I've had to quit my job because of being nauseous.REPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered from this very serious condition for nine years and am barely holding on. I find it sad that this disease is not studied more and more things aren't being done for sufferers of this disease. I can't have a normal life and I can't work most days. I wish nothing but the very best for all sufferers of this terrible disease.REPORT COMMENTS

We desperately need Gastroparesis recognized as a disability by the SSA, for those who are severely suffering and can no longer hold down a job. We are entitled to these benefits and should be able to receive them.REPORT COMMENTS

I live with this life threatening disease. I have a feeding tube because I am unable to eat because the food sits in my stomach. My body cannot digest it and remove the waste from my body. This causes distention which is painful and very uncomfortable. I have zero motility. Every day, all day, I am nauseated, I always have some degree of abdominal pain. I'm unable to go to the bathroom. Sometimes I vomit. The list of symptoms is long. Then there are the infections, all the trips to the ER for hydration, and all the hospitalizations. This is a very debilitating, and life altering disease.REPORT COMMENTS
