I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis in 2009 I was just put on medicine and the doctors never told me or my parents what Gastroparesis is . As time went by I started to get really bad sick in 2014 I got a new Gastroparesis doctor and he sat down with me and my step dad and explain what Gastroparesis was. Over 5 million people including me and babies and kids have this. Some of us are not able to work due to we throw up every day and night we are malnutrition and we get very dehydrated . Each day someone is dying from Gastroparesis including the babies and kids some of us are on feeding tubes we get to weak to just get out of bed because we are not getting enough nutrition . We need to trained are emergency room staff and doctors what Gastroparesis is . We also need to inform are insurance companies as they don't recognize Gastroparesis as a sickness . There is not a cure for what we have wrong with us . I hope that you will help us passed this bill so that Social security , and insurance companies , and the emergency room staff and doctors will not only know how to treat us but also recognized what Gastroparesis is .May 12th, 2017Skye B. from Philadelphia, PA signed.

My friend of many years is suffering from this disease. She is a mother of 3 young children. They need her in their lives. This would help her greatly if this were to pass. Because always worrying of she is going to have a job to go back to after taking some days off do to this illness. That is stressful it self. My husband has been vomiting with severe abdominal pain everyday. He sometimes spends weeks in the hospital as his stomach shuts down. The only medications that help with the daily vomiting and pain are by IV which is why he's hospitalized so often. As you can imagine it is hard to work when you are constantly in the hospital on powerful medicines with horrible side effects.REPORT COMMENTS
