I cannot imagine losing a child. This would devestate my husband and I beyond belief. Would not be able to return to work after a few days. The birth and death of a child are both significant events that should be treated the same.REPORT COMMENTS

The loss of a child is the most devastating event you can go through. I lost my daughter in 2001, my husband at the time was only allowed a few days off of work, we were not capable of even making the simplest decisions let alone hold it together for work. This amendment will allow for a parent who has lost a child to grieve, it is a lifelong process.REPORT COMMENTS

The loss of a loved one, especially a child, is just as hard, if not harder for a parent to deal with. Time should be allowed and jobs protected, just as it would with a birth, serious health issue or to care for a family member.REPORT COMMENTS

I hope to never need such a leave in my lifetime, but God forbid something happened to one of my beautiful girls, I hope the option would be available. I have had a child, but can only imagine that I would need much more time off for the loss of one!!REPORT COMMENTS
