I am sending this email in support of HR324. I will keep my explanation simple. Laws are obeyed sometimes because of morals; most of the time they are followed for fear of the consequences that follow after getting caught committing crimes. When you come onto a military installation, that fear is not there due to the lack of statutory arrest powers which a lot of people are aware of because the command. When someone is facing accusations made by a DOD Police Officer, most people are aware that if they are fiends with someone important with the military installation, the accusation will be dropped and there will be no indictment. In short, there is no system of checks and balances on a military installation.REPORT COMMENTS

As a dod officer under the dept of the navy it is scary to see people in public who I have either arrested or given citations to or see crimes happen in front of me and not have to power to protect myself and or do anything to help or protect myself or othersREPORT COMMENTS
