I strongly agree with this, being as I am hesitant to apply for certain jobs because of this very issue. I want the full recognition for which I am trained for and the duties of which I execute. It should be a fair standard across the board.REPORT COMMENTS

GS-0083 are classified by the Office of Personnel as Federal Police Officers who by their daily duties perform the same duties as their local, state and other Federal Law Enforcement counterparts but yet are not recognized as such. They deal with the same types of crimes as other law enforcement agencies that range anywhere from assaults, domestic violence, gangs, drugs, traffic violations, theft (larceny, grand larceny, etc). Granting GS-0083 Federal Police Officers statutory powers of arrest is not only necessary for the jurisdiction they are responsible for but will also be an advantage to other local, state or federal agencies such as being a first responder to a crime or major incident that occurs outside of the installation. Jurisdiction should go beyond the posts, stations or installations and they should be given the necessary credentials as other federal agencies.REPORT COMMENTS

I believe that we should be given the necessary credentials as other federal agencies. Jurisdiction should go beyond our posts, stations or installations. Constantly we are reminded by citizens who come onto our installations of where we work and we are at a disadvantage when it comes to frustrated or angry civilians or military personnel who enter our installations. Not only is our protection necessary but we can provide an advantage to other installations, state and federal agencies by being that extra law enforcement support outside our jurisdicitons. I believe we rightfully earned the credentials through our experience and training. We deal with the same criminal activities such as other law enforcement agencies that range anywhere from domestic violence, gangs, drugs, traffic violations, theft (larceny, grand larceny, etc). Thank You for your consideration!REPORT COMMENTS

We do the same job as all other police officers and in order to do our job we need the same power as other agencies. The government is the one who made this job now give us the proper power to do the job.REPORT COMMENTS

As a federal police officer, who continues to be belittled by other civilian agencies, find it biased, distasteful and unacceptable to face discrimination from our very Congress. I have the same training if not more than some local, state, and capitol police officers. Federal officers should literally have the same jurisdiction as US Marshall's, Capitol Police, and any other federal agencies, throughout the USA, to include its territories, all federal grounds, facilities. Our credentials should be equal too, and allowed to display our creditials in the commission of a felony, assault & battery, sexual assault in our presence, domestic violence. Where's the respect and dignity we've earned as Law Enforcement Officers.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm retired Local Police and current DAF Civ Police, "we" as POLICE Officers/LEOs in public and on highways, have a responsibility not only on our respective bases, to protect and serve. We were all sworn in to up hold Federal, State, and Local laws as LEOs. Make this right and support this Bill.REPORT COMMENTS
