Someone who is the epitome of the DOC Mission Statement in regards to rehabilitation was again denied parole. This time it was a FIVE year denial with NO rhyme or reason. He was praised by the board AND the DA for his accomplishments and then denied. The WHOLE yard was SHOCKED when he came back with the denial, including CO's. He's good enough for staff to call on him to aid in de escalating potential volatile situations between ALL races at his own jeopardy but NOT good enough to be free and productive in the "FREE WORLD"? I've pleaded with him to not put himself out there like that again, he's lied to over and over. His compassion for what he knows can devastate another mother, wife, child, brother over rules my pleads and again he eloquently shares his thoughts, his perception of the long term effects if they were to proceed and again has de escalated another situation that his color race had nothing to do with, however, his HUMAN RACE had EVERYTHING to do with it. All studies found, i.e. STANFORD UNIVERSITY law students determined that there is NO criteria set forth on deciding who paroles and who doesn't. Those educated in the system conclude that decisions are already made before the prisoner is even seen, irregardless of how many Self Help classes were taken, or LED by him, maintaining a job through out his life in prison, educating himself on trades and staying out of trouble, and being THAT model prisoner rehabilitated, accountable for all he's done and does... We're just shaking our heads... Why? How much more job security does the state need in detaining masters of their Programs and Mission Statements? So PROUD of my patient, humble man and so concerned for those loved ones that continue in their struggle, in their challenges to remain relational with those that have paid their dues to society AND exemplified sincere remorse to their victims loved ones.

All States should be apart of The Second Chance for Lifers. Life + 40 year etc. We need to take a good look at the inmates and their possiablitys to resume to a "normal" life. It can be done. My dear friend is serving life + 40 for a murder he did not commit in the state of Delaware. Pardons are being giving, The innocence project is helping inmates to freedom. Some can be an asset to your community and our growing troubled youth these days.

Betty Broderick committed a serious double murder and was sentenced to 15 years to life. She has served 25 of those years and denied parole. Her case is propounding in that she was in a state of betrayal by her husband whom she put through law school and took care of all the family needs only to be left for another woman after becoming a successful attorney. Without doubt double murder is serious. However in this country mitigating circumstances are part of the sentencing and should be considered in the parole. Ms. Broderick is no longer a danger to anyone and would save the tax payer money with her release.

28 yrs to life was his sentence. He is on his 22nd yr. If the parole board feels that after 20 yrs he is still not rehabilitate what's 3 more years going to do, that 20 yrs hasn't. The parole board needs to realign themselves. And if the parole board gives them a date, why make them wait three years for that date. Where is their second chance?

My brother was given a 15 to life sentence in which he has served 20 years. The really bad part is that at the age of 17 he was told by the DA to take a plea bargain and was given 15 to life on a double murder. He dint murder anyone, its in the case report. The two boys he was with commited the murders and scared my brother into believing he would be killed as well if he said anything. Because he kept quite he gets a 15 to life sentence and now they are not considering a release date because hes a lifer for a crime he didnt commit.
