We all deserve a second chance, specially if you've been sentenced for a crime you didn't commit. The system itself is so CORRUPT!!

LIFE WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE means once the person has served their base term and is no longer a threat to society they may be released. As an MSW, I support the release of lifers who have served their base sentence, participated in self help programs or books and are no threat to society. They were not given a LIFE WITHOUT Sentence and we as Californians should honor that. The state does not want to let Lifer's out when they have less than 1% chance of recidivism yet 95% of all criminal cases end in plea bargains which means, a 1st degree premeditated murder can be pled down to a voluntary manslaughter and can get a 3 years minimum to 11 year maximum sentence in CA and can be released without proving they are a threat to society but yet someone who took a gamble and took their case to trial, which is a Constitutional Right and if they do not have money or power they will end up with a life sentence so why if there so much favor in those who took a plea deal. The system cannot sustain every case going to trial, so the DA gets a slam dunk convictions which boost his/her success rate and with a high success rate the DA will get more funding for the DA'S office, promotions, raises, and will qualify the DA for being a judge in the near future.Yet we fear those with a life sentence, so what the difference between those who took a plea and those who took there case to trial, without rehabilitation isn't the person who took the plea deal at a grater risk for reoffending but yet we will let that person out sooner without questioning if that person is ready to become a productive citizen in the community. Something is very wrong with this practice and puts the safety at risk by letting out plea bargainers who are not rehabilitated. It is now time to stop holding lifer's hostage and release those who are truly no threat to society.

If these lifers meet the requirements why deny them their rights. Inmates are people too ..

Where is the belief they can be rehabilitated if all criteria and more is met, and still not given a date of release to become apart of society again? If it cost the state the most being a Life inmate, and the state is on the verge of bankruptcy, give the privilege of Life back to those that work hard to abide by the state rules while incarcerated. Be FAIR!
