Dear Sir or Mam, my name is Kyle I'm a 26 year old from a small town in southern Illinois. I was promised enlistment in to the military by the State of Illinois if I agreed to Criminal Damage to Property over $300 but less than $500 for a crime I didn't commit. The states attorney piled over 20 charges on me for being an off duty police officer. I didn't commit the felony but plead out to join the military in 2008. i was 17 when i became a felon for having a stolen mongoose bike like 100$ tops waived my juvenile rights to adult and i was in trouble only once before when i was 14 for fighting not im married with 2 kids im 22 and taco bell wal mart ect. are the only jobs that hire me i work dont do drugs or drink i was a child who didnt know and my right to be a man was just taking before i could even experience it. I became a felon when I was 17 and got 3 more misdimeanors by the time i was 19, but now I'm almost 22 and have left that stupid and irresponsible lifestyle behind. I've found what's important to me in life and my head is on straight. I want to have a stable career and a family, but with the way felons are treated in this society stinks. I feel like I should be able to enlist and prove that I can be an amazing soldier, but every recruiter makes false promises or simply shuts me down. Please pass this petition on. My father, stepfather, and brother are all marines. Both my grandfathers served in the military as well. Let me fulfill my birth-right and serve my country!REPORT COMMENTS
