Why as patients we are bending to the FDA. Physician will soon be taking classes in how to comply to the government demands on health care. (Communism) (facist) controling Health care cost for only the rich! Chronic pain isn't all their trying To control. Cancer, strokes, diabetes Asthma, hypertension and more is Beginning consider chronic. Beware Of evidence base medicine. SS Is now trying to entice physician, Clinics, hospitals to report on EHR..getting to pay the the Dr's For their compliance to them. Senior and the nexts generation Will be effected as well as the Poor. Time now to stand up because Complaining won't do the job.REPORT COMMENTS

Taking necessary medication away from sick people is barbaric. What happened to "first do no harm? On top of causing suffering by removing the right to pain medication, you are taking away our rights to use botanicals and supplements as well. You may as well just provide the bullets to chronic pain patients and myself as one of them.REPORT COMMENTS

I hv worked in the medical field all my life and when I blew the tendons in my arms that required 6 surgeries, plus blown disks in my back, the company, I was dedicated through me under the bus. I have had 2 failed laminectomy's on my back and a heart attack. I didn't ask for any of this. I was injured, I went to my Dr and did what i was asked to do....at no point did I ask for the pain or to be told I would either take these or be in a wheelchair. Now I have to beg to get the medicine my Dr put me on. What's sad is I see the abuse of those using the system and why can't the DEA and police and drs see it. Quit going after my Dr for doing what they, like myself, sore an oath to protect. Now my Dr is afraid to continue to give me meds for fear she will loose her license. Get your act together and help the victims here. Thank uREPORT COMMENTS

Modern medicine is supposed to heal, and when it can't heal, it is supposed to treat. In my experience, there is better focus on patient comfort in hospice, than in most MD practices. I have several conditions that are VERY painful. A few years back, I stopped taking pharmaceuticals, because of the longterm effects, tolerance issues. Even when taking the pills, there were only a handful of days each year that I would wake up feeling "normal", ready to face the day. The prohibitive costs of medical treatment keeps me from the rheumatologist, the neurologist, to say nothing of the cost of the medicine itself. Patient care should be focused on the patient.REPORT COMMENTS

Why can you get pain killers if you need them? I have had two back surgery. And now I can work. I think. I should be able to get if I really. Do need them. I take Norco 10 for pain. Have been for 20 years now. They help some if I not doing anything! But doctors can't are won't give me anthing that will! I'm not looking for drugs. Because I don't need them!REPORT COMMENTS

I am a 63 year old woman, healthy until I sustained an injury 3.5 years ago. I am still hurting. I am tired of being treated like a criminal because I CHRONIC PAIN. Ibuprofen and Tylenol or any other adjunct medications don't always do it. Do you think I want to take the stuff (opiates)? I get no "high" from it. The big side effect, with any opiate, is "the big C." So, if I could, I would rather not take opiates. And going through all the misery of cost, scheduling, spilling out your most personal history, and then being treated with such disrespect...horrible. I had a 5th injection May 6th. I ran out of Tramadol, and I really wanted to believe that this time, I was going to get better. I would be able to drive more than 1.5 hours, socialize, go to exercise, work...After about a week the pain, neuropathy now, was so intense I just could not take it. I called my Pain Mgt MD. and told his staff I needed something for pain. I did not hear back, as I usually do. I did not hear back from my pharmacy. Thus, thinking that no Rx had been sent in, I went to Redi-Med to get some pain medicine. I was having an MRI done the next day. My driving is very limited, due to pain. The NP would not even see me. The MA came out and said, "The NP will not prescribe any pain medication because it is after hours." I drove to the ER. The ER was not busy. They placed me into a room immediately, but I sat, and sat, and sat. I do not think there were any patients other than myself, or at the most, one patient. All the staff was sitting around the ER doc, just gabbing away, having a gay ol' time. I guess my pain was not that important, and I agree, the ER is the place to obtain REGULAR pain meds. This was the first time I had done this. My pain was very bad, 8/10. It was so bad that I would have had to pay a $300 co-pay, but that is how much I was hurting. After 40 minutes I walked out. I drove to get the MRI the next day (50 minutes one way), with some tears shed. I called my Pain Mgt. MD, and an Rx HAD been sent in. I just did not know it. Even if this ER or Redi-Med had prescribed something, there are so much controls in place, that the script would not have been filled. There are double-catch guards in placed for abuse and over prescribing. Most MD prescribe according to their personal bias. Most are not educated on chronic pain. Opiates are not the end all-be all, but chronic pain can be controlled. These/this law needs to be amended. Good people do not deserve to be treated like this. WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS. WE ARE GOOD PEOPLE WHO HAVE REAL, HONEST-TO-GOODNESS PAIN. Does anyone care?REPORT COMMENTS

I have already lost my pain meds and every day and night are agonizing. No otc don't work because have tried them all. They are also very damaging to your liver and kidneys. I had back surgery in the 1970's then last August I was rear-ended by an 18 wheeler. I have 12 protruding discs and DDD and stenosis and nerve damage. I really need something for pain before I get pushed over the edge. Yes I do see a psychiatrist already.REPORT COMMENTS
