My ex-wife would say to me you don't work you have no friends your useless , doctors where poisoning me with steroids and designer drugs making my diabetes and blood pressure worse which in turn made my pains worse . This i found out by my ex primary care provider . You don't walk away with out mental scares from chronic pain . I suffer from severe depression , ptsd , fight or flight response . When one is tortured for to long it will change you brain the way you think how you act etc. . The psychiatrists are no help neither , they say use radical acceptance , I would like them to experience my pain then tell me that . Now to see a doctor and they refuse to help is dangerous for me . They are basically not doing their job , there for they need to quit . You tend to have anger issues when some doctor tells you your pain needs managed and they will not step up to the plate and pass you off from one doctor to another . This is by all means abuse . Like the child?s story of the lion and the mouse , my thorn needs pulled out my paw and no one will do it .

Chronic pain warriors, As if it couldn't get any worse, I've been reading/hearing that the DEA wants access to all our medical records, for instance, if you get pulled over, they want cops to be able to search a database with all the CPP's names and access to pharmacy records, can take you in for being "under the influence " and if you have your pain medication in ur system, you will be charged. Also, by the DEA/government having access to our PRIVATE medical records, addresses, phone numbers, etc..can and will put innocent law abiding chronically ill people in harms way. I read a horrible story about an elderly couple who was robbed of their pain medication by a DEA agent who had access to their PRIVATE info, thru the PDM, got this couples address and entered their home while the couple was sleeping, To all you so called senators running this country, I highly doubt that all of you or your loved ones are in excellent health, I don't doubt for a minute there are many in your corrupt organizations that are dependent on opiods for quality of life, and there are probably just as many who are abusing the evidence they confiscate and selling it on the streets, like the DEA agent who got busted with $70,000 dollars worth of weed he confiscated and sold on the streets, then killed himself in jail, COWARD! And there are many more in your corrupt DEA doing the same thing. You people do not care about the people of this country. You are all about GREED and buying your way to the top, or those lobbyists who you have in your back pockets doing favors for each other. I am a citizen of this country and I have the human right to medical treatment whatever that may be.mIve been thru the alternative therapies, OTC AND NSAIDS, all Of it surgeries, injections. nerves burned, Tens, Back braces, and much more. When we chronic pain pts are to the point of getting no relief from your alternative therapies, we have a dam right to medication that will ease our pain! I URGE ALL YOU WARRIORS KEEP WRITING TO THE HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH IN NY, join a group called chronic pain rights support on facebook and also patientsnotaddicts. We are in the process of coming back and fighting hard . Screw you *******s in washington, dictating and severely limiting lifesaving medications. You will have God to answer to one day, for your sake you better pray he has mercy on your soul for torturing the chronically ill!

It's quite obvious that the people making many of these recommendations have never suffered any TRUE, DIBILITATING CHRONIC PAIN or had to watch someone you love deteriorate & loose their will to live because of pain that's so severe, if uncontrolled! When pain is So Bad it dictates your entire life, it is the VERY FIRST sensation you feel as you awaken each morning. It is Constant and Severe and when it is not kept at a controlled level, your LIFE as you knew it is GONE! You can no longer do the simplest things in life like keeping a house, cook for your family, carrying groceries up the stairs etc. You have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in life to look forward to except, weeks & months of pain that never stops!! You feel as though your life no longer holds any Quality or Value & also end up losing many things & people you love! By the way, people like my sister (& I'm sure most of the people who have posted on this site, HAVE ALREADY tried NSAIDS & numerous types of other non opioid medications. They've HAD P.T., Epidurals, Injections &/or surgeries. They go/have tried the chiropractor! People dont go on opioid medications right off the bat. Most of the people taking them, are on them becausethey've already DONE EVERYTHING ELSE! All they want is to BE ABLE TO LIVE A LIFE THAT IS WORTH LIVING instead of being forced to lay in bed, be in tears, & feeling like what type of life is this?? Opioid medication is what has given my sister the ability to no longer spend her life confined to her bedroom & be able to enjoy certain things she used to do. She also does stretching & continues to go to the chiropractor & take vitamin supplements, but without the medication to help control the pain, she has NO Quality of Life...and NO ONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO LIVE LIKE THAT! I feel confident that if any of you are ever severly injured or diagnosed with a life-long dibilitating illness and feel what REAL, UNRELENTING pain is like, I guarantee you, your viewpoint would change quickly and dramatically because your priority becomes about relief because you can't take the pain anymore!! Your stance may be that you do not believe that Opioids benefit chronic pain patients, but if you did some unbiased studies you would see how misinformed you are! My sister is living proof! The CDC is doing the studies that THEY WANT TO PUBLISIZE & interviews by the Doctors with the opinions they want to air. Unfortunately, you're creating the NEXT REAL EPIDEMIC which is, a significant rise in heroin, alcohol use and increasing suicide rates, and it's already happening, (just take a look @ the statistics and some of these posts!) And the government, is who is responsible for this by taking away/severely limiting the only source of legal pain relief that many, many legitimate chronic pain patients really need!!

First off my prayers to the victims of the latest terror attack in FL. As I sit and watch the news reports of the many criticly injured, I wonder are you hypocrits denying these victims pain medication!? FL of all places, is one of the worst states denying pain medication to the suffering, I can only pray these victims are being properly treated and not made to feel like some pillseeking junkie, which is happening in all hospitals across this country. Senator Smith: Please do not send me an autoreply message thanking me for my concerns and how you will be sure to bring them to the floor. Who are you kidding!? Do you even know what my letters say!? DOUBTFUL! This attack on the chronically ill, the disabled, our VETS, who btw keep your asses safe, our senior citizens and people of all ages who are suffering from INCURABLE DEBILITATING NEVER ENDING SEVERE PAIN IS FORCING LEGITIMATE PAIN PTS TO SUICIDE!! Your corrupt entities such as the CDC label those suicides as OD's , why is that!?!? Call it what it is: MEDICALLY AND POLITICALLY INDUCED TORTURE ON AMERICAN CITIZENS! WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY AND WILL FIGHT FOR OUR HUMAN RIGHT TO PAIN MEDICATION!! Amazing how I've read many stories of your corrupt DEA agents who are no better than the drug dealers and abusers. DEA agents who confiscated money, pills, heroin, weed, etc and that evidence never makes it to the evidence room, these corrupt lying DEA agents are turning around and putting the******back on the streets filling their own pockets.!!! I DON'T DOUBT FOR ONE SECOND THAT THE DEA AND YOU CORRUPT PENPUSHERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PILLS/HEROIN LACED WITH FENTANYL HITTING THE STREETS AND KILLING PEOPLE. YOU ALL MAKE ME SICK! Senator Booker: I've written to you as well MULTIPLE times and never have you even taken the time to reply. That says alot about you and being "for the peope" SHAME ON YOU! Also, proposing a tax on opiods!? WTF!? You all are clearly ahowing your hate and discrimination for the suffering. Why should any of the legit pain pts who DEPEND on opiods for a QUALITY OF LIFE have to pay taxes on LIFESAVING MEDICATIONS and pay for addicts treatment!? WHOSE HELPING ME PAY MY THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF MEDICAL BILLS OR MY MEDICATION!! NOONE! Why are you exempting suboxone!? An opiod as well, oh but wait silly me, its considered addiction treatment and we wouldn't want to put any more hardship on an addict right!? I have never been so disgusted in our government! You ALL have destroyed this so called "free" country! The INHUMANE MISTREATMENT, THE NEGLECT,ABUSE, DEGEADING AND DISCRIMINATION AGAINST THE CHRONICALLY ILL WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU ALL! I see many comments saying they wish you never had to feel what we do, well I for one, want you all to feel excruciating pain everyday, pain so bad you will beg God to take you like I do everyday. Then again all you corrupt entities: DEA,CDC,FDA,and government have access to anything and I know many of you or your love

Doctors take the Hippocratic oath for a reason. When people are in enough pain they become desperate. Heroin is beginning to creep into areas it never has before. Class isn't limited. All this is doing is creating a larger, worse problem. Addiction must be treated as any other illness, and the stigma against it needs to stop.

You and the rest of elected officials have gone out your way to torture . This is not Liberty this is not Freedom . Article V it's over due , a broken federal government will not fix itself . Here I lay in bed ,forced to suffer in pain , forced to have mandatory health care insurance. We the people need to fix this as we cooked in pain against our wills by an overreaching federal government. Your place is not rehab your place is not to play doctor . You have not examined me for you are not qualified too , but you make laws to prevent treatment of chronic pain. This is a hate crime . I urge all American citizens to want a convention of states. Freedoms lost , money wasted this is not Freedom but tyranny . How much money you paying to deny medical intervention for chronic pain?

I wrote earlier about my chronic pain issues but forgot to mention I no longer work now because of it so maybe knowing that your losing money now from what used to be a hard working tax paying citizen may want the government to look at the loss of income for you cause money is all the government cares about! I worked from the time I was 16, went to college but had to quit working February this year because I can not function due to the severity of my pain. Here I am 43 years old, now on welfare and can't even pay my bills due to many doctors afraid of giving pain medication and properly treating pain I will probably not be physically capable of working again! However I'm sure the geniuses that decided to make it near impossible to get properly treated for pain didn't think of how many people would be out of work and living off the system there will be now.

I no longer trust any doctors and live in constant pain I hate living and can't wait to die I'm 43. I figure if I just don't go to the doctor for any reason I will eventually die from something hopefully it's sad! I have been living with chronic pain for four years now and never drank so I just bought a couple bottles and will become an alcoholic it will take care of my pain and hey it's legal so why not? I have been given every non narcotic pain medication known to man, went to physical therapy, chiropractor, lost weight etc. I had an x-ray that showed arthritis in my spine and degenerative disc disease and my doctor will not give me anything or send me for an mri for further study. I can't walk at times I'm losing feeling in my leg but he doesn't care nor does any other doctor I've seen so I decided two weeks ago that will be the last time I go to the doctor. I do have high blood pressure and when I run out of those pills that's it! Done with doctors!!!

I suffer from chronic pain whic is very bad . I have brain trama , spinal damage , slipped discs , herniated discs , a torn rotator cuff with at least 3 damaged nerves . My severe never goes away but was managable before this 80/20 act . Now it is not at all . Now i am bed ridden 24-7 & the only time i do anything that is a doctor visit . There are many of thousands of people like me that suffer daily just like i do & many of them speak of death now to manage it . Please find it in your hearts to reconsider this 80/20 act put into place . If anything hold the doctors who prescribe not needed medication to those that do not need it responsible & send them to prison if you must but change this 80/20 act cause so many are paying the ultimate price now with the 80/20 like me .

I suffer from severe chroni pain from brain trama , spinal damage , slipped discs , herniated discs , a torn rotator cuff , with at least 3 damaged nerves & my pain is 24-7 & the pain is severe second by second & never stops . I am disabled 100 % & have been for over 20 years . Each case should be handled seperately cause many suffer so much like me . But if the doctor is prescibing them to one that does not need them & it hurts or kills them then they should be liable & face prison time if needed . This 80/20 act is killing me with my pain level . Please reconsider this act cause i read online & many speak of death cause of their pain is to much to handle now . Us sufferers need some help from someone to redo this act . I used to live a fairly normal life but now with this 80/20 i am 100 % bed ridden & lay here moaning & crying daily cause of my pain & i know that many are doing the same as i am . I hardly ever go out to do anything now except for my doctor visits monthly . Now that my pain pump is gone i rely on medication in pill form & this 80/20 thing is hurting me & many others so very much . Please i beg you so very badly to redo this 80/20 policy . I wish that they could feel my pain for a day then it would never even be the 80/20 that is if they could live through it for that day . But they meaning who ever put 80/20 into act but i would never wish my pain even on any enemy but maybe this is what would open there eyes to what so many are going through . But what i get now is not working much at all for my pain level to help me manage & get by . I want to go back to living a life again going fishing & walking in parks enjoying nature , ect . Please for the love of god find it in yourhearts to show some mercy & pity for so many of thousands here in America the land of the free which truly does not seem it with this going on since we have to suffer so badly & so much daily . Please , please , please , look into this matter so that things can be corrected & justified for us chronic pain sufferers . Please & God Bless You for doing this for us . Thank you so very , very much .Sincerly , FloridaChris

I am a 68 year old man who has had 2 back surgeries and suffers from spinal stenosis, a torn rotator in both shoulders, a torn meniscus, fibromyalgia and SEID. I have been under strictly contgrolled pain management for the last 16 years. Not once have I ever had an issue with a dirty urine. I do not drink alcohol or smoke marijuana. Without opioid pain killers my life was a living hell on earth and now because of this new law my paion management doctor has cut my medications of 16 years in half and she told me that because of you law makers everyone will suffer! I spent 5 years in pain taking nsaids, and psychiatric meds even when my gastroenterologist warned me against them because in long term they cause ulcers and liver damage and they were not helping me! At lasst after 5 years I was referred to pain management and until last friday I was a functional human being again. That was 16 years ago. How dare you call opioid prescription drug abuse an epidemic when tobacco which is directly related to killing over 400000 persons every year are sold on the open market? What kind of hipocrisy is this? Republicans and Democrats alike; you are just wrong. Do you really think you can kill us seniors off by coming between our doctors? Well you are right. Deaths from heroin is up in seniors 600% in Florida since you voted in your sham law. Why? Because seniors who are in pain would rather die than live in pain. You Senators and Congressmen and women are such low lifes you all deserve to burn in hell and if there is a God you will and I believe there is. I guarantee when one of you find yourself on the wrong side of pain you will be the first to holler for opioids. And because you are a big shot you will get them. Most of you are alcoholic lawyers anyway and alcohol kills another 400000 persons each and every year and that is still sold in the open market also. Shame on you all. You spend years fighting with one another and getting nothing done but you jump on seniors? Really? On this you can agree? You bums. Hipocrits. Liars! My own doctors call you incompetent fools and mischief makers-not law makers. Not laws that matter anyway. You are all thiefs. On the dole. Paid off by lobbyists and special interest groups. You are taking away seniors rights to live a life without debilitating pain.

I suffer of chronic back pain since I am28 years old that is now affecting my knees and feet. I have 6 herniated disks, arthritis, and a degenerative disk disease. I am 59 years old and have never abused any medication. I have never smoked, did drugs, or drink alcohol. I haven't been able to fill my pain medication written in February and now my pharmacy tells me that won't fill it because of the way the doctor wrote the prescription. I don't understand how the pharmacy can tell me this 4 months later. The pharmacy had my prescription for 4 months and they now tell me that the doctor made a mistake. a) I don't understand the doctor's mistake in writing such prescription since I have been under his care for the last 8 years, b) why wouldn't the pharmacist tell me this earlier, the day I handed her the written prescription and left me in pain for 4 long months? Every month telling me they were waiting for a shipment and now this new reason. I can't do simple things like getting off the bed in the mornings, I walk slowly parallel to the flirt all bended, had to take time off work, (I am a college professor), can't attend family activities, and the worst part because of my pain I can't help my 5 year old granddaughter who suffers of Spinsl Muscular Athriphy and can't move from her head down. It breaks my heart to see my son not having a life because his mother can't even sit and watch his daughter while he takes a shower because in an emergency I couldn't even move to save my granddaughter. It is unfair that I am treated this way. I used to do yoga, but without medication I can't move to even do my yoga exercises. I used to be active even while in pain, because I was able to mitigate the pain through exercising and pain medication. I feel useless, abandoned by a system that by trying to stop illegal drug users and irresponsible people who abuse their medication, forgets about the responsible patients Luke myself who in 31 years have never once abused my medication. Actually when I am able to take care of my pain through pain medication, I am able to function, exercise, and be happier which helps me to use less medication, therefore, allowing a month prescription last longer. As of today, the floor is the only place I can be. Can't leave my house, can't help my family, and my question to the FDA is what have I done wrongly to be treated this way? Please help us. I am a very well educated person. I have several physicians in my family who see my suffering and deterioration without being able to help me. For this reason I am signing this petition hoping that someone can speak up for us: real suffering, responsible patients who are not looking for anything else than being treated like human beings and not criminals by our doctors and pharmacists. This is a shame! Stop being cruel! I would do anything for my 2 doggies not to be in pain, how come we live in a country that careless about human beings?

Let me start by agreeing that there are probably people out there who "doctor shop" and try to get these drugs prescribed. I believe with the technology we have at our fingertips that this should not be a problem that is hard to spot by a doctors office. That being said, there are also the majority who have hard evidence they are SUFFERING with chronic PAIN. This is an area that the doctors are qualified enough to make that decision. When the government steps in and threatens these doctors for doing their job then we as American Citizens loose our quality of care. Our doctors have to be able to do what they know is right. They should NOT have to FEAR our government for doing what they have been trained and sworn to do. CARE FOR THEIR PATIENTS!!!!!

This is not where I imagined myself being at 56. I've had two spinal fusions, C6-7 and L4-5 L5-S1. I also have four herniated discs with 5 pinched nerves. One of the herniations in my neck is pressing on my spinal cord. My pain is moderate to severe and is constant. I've taken Percocet since 1999, having dose increased once in all those years. My PCP prescribed morphine around ten years ago. These drugs gave me a better quality of life. I was told many years ago by my doctor that I'd need to be on these for life. I walk on my treadmill and ride my indoor recumbent bike. I live in Ohio where medical marijuana was made legal last week. I had tried some and found great relief from my nerve pain. My pain clinic had me do a urine test. Obviously I failed. Now the PM doc refuses to write opiates for me. I have never sold or given my medicine away. I have never bought off the street. Now the street looks like my only option. There is a HUGE difference in tolerance and addiction. Until doctors are permitted to treat real chronic pain there will be many more suicides. This isn't pain I can just live with. I can barely get out of bed as it is. Whatever happened to do no harm? I have cried for days now and will be completely out of meds for my back in a few days. What do I do now?

No sleep, horrible serious pain, no surgeon will touch me, make matters worse..that coming from 11 doctors. Had pain meds, actually living... Until doc drops me..excuse? None. Then the stories of CDC on FDA came out about drugs.. put 2 & 2 together. Had to go to another doc..this one put me on antidepressants..one gave me nightmarish spasams in both arms n legs..got off of those, another gave me more pain n suicidal thoughts, off of them. In Wisconsin they now give you antidepressants for pain, sleeping pills for pain! Hello! Nothing works.. not even otc meds, creams, what have you! I have no life now, my husband does everything n he doesn't work because he has to take care of me. Hell my dog goes more places than I do! I'm tired, in pain constantly, have no life. Yes I've thought of the S word but I love my husband. If he doesn't leave me I'd be surprised! All he ever hears or sees is me being in considerable misery, crying n more pain. You damned *******s leave us be, leave the docs be...I need my meds..I pay for them out of pocket! This needs to stop now! I agree with the other people who wrote , there will be suicides n people buying off the streets.. please let us have a life!

I am a 58 year old female who has undergone multiple surgeries, all resulting in long term debilitating consequences. These range from incising 25+ protective nerve sheaths in my back, as a result of a previous failed chemical injection surgical procedure, turning the prolapsed disc into goop-resulting in symptoms identical to severe MS; a botched gall bladder removal of a HEALTHY gall bladder, cutting and damaging the bile duct, rrsulting in severe abdominal pain, swelling, and diarrhea for over 20 years; c- section due to gross intentional negligence, and clipping my fallopian tubes without my knowledge or acquiescence; inappropriate medications and procedures causing sevetal small strokes; and several other disastrous operations and procedures. Various treating physicians were well aware of my horrific history, causing the quick decline of my health, yet maintained a stoney wall of silence. WHY?!? Protection of their private club?! I served my God and Country honorably for ovet 25 years. I worked internationally in peace keeping missions, as well as preventative services against traffickers. While I know I touched several hot buttons in this regard, this is NO REASON to be treated by physicians in such an unspeakably evil manner. It makes me wonder about their involvement with the growing trafficking problem What fors it take to get necessary medical attention A Judge ORDERED I receive lifetime medical treatments for my on the job imjury, yet the insurance company is contemptuously non- compliant. As a result, I am still being mistreated, maligned, and my records changed. The pain is more severe each day, with insufficient and incomplete treatments for my multiple conditions. Just how cruel can one group be? PRiDE- a deadly sin.

LEAVE OUR DOCTORS TO BE DOCTORS. YOU'RE POLITICIANS NOT DOCTORS. YOUR DOING MORE DAMAGE. THE GOVERNMENT I GREW UP TO BELIEVE I LIVED IN WOULD NOT BE IN MY DOCTORS OFFICE. STOP DESTROYING THE LIVES OF PAIN PATIENTS AND DOCTORS ALL THE DEA CARES ABOUT IS ARREST NUMBERS FOR THEIR CAREERS AND CORRECTIONS CORPORATIONS OF AMERICA.

So in the state of NC, we now are faced with our meds being taken away,by my md today, you can't take over 100mg in a day, after three major surgeries, permanent nerve damage, arthritic back, bulding disc, I was decreased in meds. Now, here's the thing,JMO, this is not going to help the problem at hand, people are going to become addicted to street drugs, commit suicide, that's going to be bigger than me getting my meds. I've always followed rules, recommendations by my doctor, never failed a UA,that being said, I know that doctor's really need to step up and tell CDC,DEA,FDA that they went to school for years to become a doctor and not be so afraid of telling them, I wasn't afraid to tell her today that I like how these people that don't even know me & can tell her how to treat me, like I said this is going to be a bigger problem of illegal drug use and death. It's a sad day when the government can rule us, it's becoming very evident that this is becoming a government controlled nation. My voice will be heard because I'm not an addict, just want my quality of life just like the next person. The sad part is that us working people pay their bills, what if we took that away, no state taxes,no federal taxes, see how they handle their financial life like I'm having to deal with my physical health.I think all should be done case by case & then plan according. This is my thoughts & my voice to be heard. What kind of people treat people this way by thinking they're doing right, think again, hope they don't have sleepless nights and death threats, as in mental health is a bigger issue than someone like me,who lives in a town, knows only 5 people and mind my own business, all I've got to say is good luck with that you moron. These three groups really need to see how they're affecting law abiding citizens!!
