Please don't label chronic pain patient drug abuser. Most of us can't even walk a half of block. I'm just trying to maintain some type of normal life for my child. Now I can't walk, cook, clean and my one child will be graduating from high school. What am I supposed to do when I can't walk. Thank you for taking that milestone away from him. His mother will never see him see him recive his diploma. I have a special needs child that . needs to be taken to therapy once a week. You are going to push many in severe pain to suicide.

I am going threw this horrible thing of my medication being lowered and these doctors wanting to use the excuse that the Pain Management Doctor is where I must go. 16 years ago I paid threw the roof these Physical Therapy, Epidurals and operations. MRI and X-rays that were extremely expensive also. My lawyer asked me not to have the Epidural's done , 3 in my neck and 3 in my Lumbar. Which did not work and the cost, horrible. To this day I had more MRI $$$$ and X-rays$$$$ and have not gotten better. Which I was told would happen. Its a domino affect. To this day 6-2016 the FDA WILL NOT APPROVE THESE EPIDURALS and for good reason. But 2015 when they decided NO they also agreed that they must DO NO HARM. And if medication is used than its used. I do not Doctor shop nor have I gone against anything to be treated like a criminal. I just want to be able to get up in the morning tend to my home , go to the normal as possible daily routine's. Shop, a show and be able to sit or walk without pain. I'm in pain right now because they are lowering my medication below the hours it has been tested by the FDA as should be prescribed. The DEA is causing HARM. Why doesn't this DEA stop the Chinese made Fentanyl being used by the BIG CRIMINALS and other Chinese made products on our streets. Stay out of Doctors way and stop calling them PROVIDER! That something any one can title themselves too! For the last 5 years my clinic has driven away these doctor shoppers or persons I have , with my own eyes, that fall asleep on my shoulder or look like they cant stay awake. The doctors have done a good job. YOU THE DEA NEED TO GET OUT OF OUR OFFICES SO WE CAN BE TAKEN CARE OF!!!! And I am one whom can not take anti-inflammatory drugs or morphine, methadone or many other drugs because I have reactions to their chemicals. My family has had many reactions to different drugs threw out the years we have lived. They can be life threatening. I have always taken my medication as prescribed. But now they are lowering the amount not to the hours prescribed and OK'd by the FDA. They want me to go to 6-8 hours on a 4-6 hour drug. And I get shorted by the end of the month. GET OUT OF MY DOCTOR HEAD. Is the only way I can put it.

To the ignorant poster from Toms River, Not sure where you get off coming at me the way you have, You don't know me nor do you know the research and help I do to fight this hell LEGITIMATE pain pts are being put thru. I am more than glad that cancer and hospice pts are exempt, the point is ALL THOSE WHO DEPEND ON OPIODS FOR A QUALITY OF LIFE , REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY SUFFER FROM ,SHOULD NOT BE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST, FORCED TO PAY FOR AN ADDICT TO GET TREATMENT WHEN THERE IS NOT ONE WORD MENTIONED IN THAT PATHETIC TAX ABOUT ANY FUNDING FOR CHRONIC PAIN PTS. YOU REALLY THINK YOU CALLING ME A PILL POPPER ADDICT OR WHATEVER HURTS ME!?!? GET A LIFE! I have more things to concern myself with like fighting to make it thru til the next day, all the while taking care of a dying brother who too is being put thru hell.... I apologize to all of you who are going thru so much as it is to have to come onto a petition and see drama, that's not my intention, and frankly no time for it. There's also another petition in reference to the lifeboat tax on our medications, here is the link : http://www.petition2congress.com/20286/stop-opiate-tax-aka-lifeboat-act/

Was surprised by a drug test when arriving at my primary care providers office. Was put in a position to sign it or be faced with a possible denial of care. I was treated like an addict and drug seeker. I was put in a position to agree to unannounced drug tests. As a former addictions counselor I understand the process. What struck me was that I was put in a position to agree to be place in a state data base the this shared with the DEA or face a discharge from care by this PM. I was also informed that a new tax is planned to be place on all controlled substances to fund addiction treatment. Why must I be treated like a cigarette smoker and drug addict? Wow.

I was treated as a drug seeker at a pain clinic even with data from MRIs, CT myelogram and my surgeon who performed my cervical surgeries stated, "this pt. Will never be without pain." I've nerve damage in my neck with many other spine issues that are degenerative. Believed to be from a birth defect. It took 15 months to get proper care. 15 months of hell with 8-10/10 pain, curled up in a ball, vomiting at times, hardly able to breath, etc. this is abuse! And when after doing all I was told, I asked for something stronger, I was yelled at! This is wrong. No human should be treated this way and demeaned and degraded! Please do not punish the good doctors that are knowledgeable and help people like me to have the will to live again!

Is severe, unrelenting pain something that a physician should not help a patient with, when relief is available? What is the government doing? Genocide by Suicide???

The media always says it is pain meds that cause these overdoses! When actually it is a combination of drugs. Myself a chronic pain and hep C suffer for 26 years take my pain meds as perscribed. I take drug test every month and I don/t drink. I just want to make it through each day with some quality of life. I would appreciate if you are going to report someone has overdosed , provide all reason . Not just the stigma of an Overdose narcotic pain meds, being the sole cause of all these deaths.

The war on drug abuse is in the streets not in the doctors office. Chronic pain patients and their doctors are NOT the problem. Anyone that actually researches the facts can see this. Chronic pain patients are being pushed to suicide, yet being ignored.

Had no problem with proper migraine pain treatment including Percocet at 30 days of course i didn't take them everyday only as needed. I took pop blood and urine tests for drug screens. Passed each one i suffer i am not addicted but you get treated like a junkie. That's been me experience since i moved back to Florida. The pharmacies local refused to fill threw scripts at me and my dr who i will no longer see changes my dosage and treatment from what worked for 5 years at one of the leading clinics. I have posted my nightmare on local news facebook articles regarding this. Hiw pharmacists are playing god and how drs want to pawn you off on other drs or change an effective continuity of care. It's BS and the news never asked me or other unhappy pain sufferers. It's not fair to take away treatment that works.
