The fact that NSAIDS are terrible for you (heart attack, etc) and that they almost always give me severe gastritis is a SURE sign I can't take them NOT a SURE sign I'm an addict!Jun 10th, 2016Someone from Lawton, OK signed.

It's sad when someone is dying, in a lot of pain and they cannot get help! Shame on the government for not allowing people who truly need the medication to live some sort of quality of life to not having a life at all and even perhaps committing suicide for relief!REPORT COMMENTS

what people who suffer from chronic pain do not realize is that its about politics. The Dea,cdc, fda are all government entities. We have made petitions to senators for our rights to be treated and they have ignored us.I could write about my abuse by doctors and my pain all day /night long.It won't change a thing ,plus I'm not looking for sympathy have mentioned article V from the original constitution to be acted on due to an overreaching federal government that is out of control. To be forced to have mandatory health care and not get that health care really is theft of service.I have been told by pain groups on face book if you want to talk about politics, there are groups for that.I suffer from chronic pain and I am being discriminated against for nerve damage,I have had no medicine for over a year.I did not need rehab because as the Dea has said people with nerve damage that take pain medicine are addicts. So who benefits from me living in constant pain with mandatory health care i can't use? And please do not forget it was politicians who made the Dea.REPORT COMMENTS

I live with chronic pain.I think it sad that because drug addicts people who truely need these meds to have any quality of life aren't able to get what's needed. Were treated poorly, looked down on ect. When all we want is to be able to get through a day without laying in bed crying in pain. So many of us suffer and the druggies will still find ways to get what they want. I became a Nurse to help people but I see so many of us being hurt instead of helped.REPORT COMMENTS

The DEA should stop targeting doctors who treat pain. Doctors should be supported in their compassionate desire to help their patients manage their chronic pain.REPORT COMMENTS

Chronic pain is a disease and is no different than a diabetes, heart disease or kidney disease. These patients are treated with drugs yet chronic pain suffers are treated without dignity or the same rights as other patients.REPORT COMMENTS

The most inhumane thing has just happened to me my doctor office just advised me that my doctor's license were suspended and I was to see him in 2 days which means I will not have my medication until I find a new doctor which will take 40 days and I will end up in the ER or commit suicide I cannot live with the chronic pain of Interstitial Cystitis a bladder disease. Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Restless Leg Syndrome, Severe Back Pain. It is like having open heart surgery and the surgeon opening you up and just leaving you there on the table. Where is the compassion?REPORT COMMENTS

Please sign the petition below regarding the absurd "Lifeboat Tax" . Why are chronic pain pts and our LIFESAVING MEDS continually being beaten down by the corrupt penpushers in congress!? First, you force thousands and thousands, millions even, of legitimate chronic pain patients to suffer, to endure severe daily pain, you strip innocent law abiding citizens who are chronically ill of thier LIFESAVING MEDS , lowering them to INEFFECTIVE DOSES OR ABRUPTLY STOPPED, sending MANY legit pain pts to the streets for relief or worse SUICIDE! You take our QUALITY OF LIFE, leaving us bedridden, depressed, suicidal, CHRONIC INTRACTABLE PAIN KILLS WHEN LEFT UNTREATED!! NOW YOU WANT THE CHRONICALLY ILL WHO ARE BEING NEGLECTED, ABUSED, MISTREATED, DEGRADED, AND DISCRIMINATED AGAINST TO PAY FOR ADDICTS ADDICTION TREATMENT!? TAXING OUR LIFESAVING MEDS THAT MANY OF US CAN'T AFFORD AS IT IS! WHY ARE PAIN PTS BEING PUNISHED !? YOU ALL HAVE TAKEN YOUR WAR ON PAIN PTS WAY TO FAR! It took me many years to find out why my body and joints hurt so badly all the time. At the age of 57, I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and spondylitis.I am now 63 I take Tramadol daily. My Dr. has reduced the dosage by half due to CDC guidlines. I resent being lumped in with suicidal people and drug addicts. I struggle daily to keep my house clean and care for my farm animals. I have nowhere near the quality of life I used to have. The tramadol only eases the pain a small amount.I truly can't take anti inflamatory drugs because they cause extreme stomach and abdominal pain. Why am I going to be punished when I have done nothing wrong and I am an old lady? Sometimes my joints hurt so bad I am unable to walk.40 people a year die of overdoses? Maybe they are suicidal and dont want to live. I would guess more than 40 people a year die slipping and falling, etc. This is not an epidemic.REPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered from chronic pain nearly half of my life due to severe arthritis and spinal degeneration. Most doctors are so fearful of the DEA that they will either minimally treat for pain or not at all. Proper use and the right amount of applied prescription pain medication is not drug abuse. I agree there are those that abuse prescription drugs, but not by those that really need prescription pain medication to function and have some semblance of a quality life. Doctors who under treat or won't treat, just force patients to seek out alternative ways to cope with their debilitating pain, often times illegal and illicit drugs.REPORT COMMENTS

I am living with severe chronic pain and was informed by my doctor that my pain medication is to be tapered down because of research studies suggest that I am taking too much... Wait? Does my actual pain matter, or am I being treated according to a study that I was not even a participant. I have been undertreated for my back pain and suffering alone and isolated. When will chronic pain patients be treated with the same compassion as any other patient? I am so depressed and devastated, considering suicide!REPORT COMMENTS

Our representatives are failing us while the DEA is CAUSING the increase in heroin deaths because they have threatened doctors, criminalized legitimate pain patients and made controlled and managed opiate users the new lepers all in a psychopathic thrust to justify their existence. They should be jailed. Stop the illegal drugs and stay away from our doctors.REPORT COMMENTS

I fell off my parents garage when I was 15, over the years I learned to live with the pain in my shoulder, after many years of agony my doctor offered pain killers, I refused for 5 years. The first prescription sat on my counter for 3 weeks, fear of the unknown.. I took the first pill finally and I could not believe the relief.. So now after 9 years my doctor dumps me like I'm a drug addict.. Ahhh, wait a minute here ... How do we legislate pain ? I'm 63 years old and all I want to do is make it to 66 to retire... What the hell is going on here, I have never once abused any drugs, never smoked weed and now suddenly this is my fault ???? WHAT ? Can I go after the doctor here ????? I'm now in agony !!!REPORT COMMENTS
