I fell off a 60FOOT cliff and shattered both legs, feet, left arm, and my spine. to make things worse i had my right leg butchered because of a mistake, and necrotic tissue. I'm completely mangled, and sat in the hospitol for 3MONTHS, in a body cast for 4.5MONTHS, and in a wheel chair for an entire. I was told I'd never walk again, but forced myself up after a year in bed. Even with my limbs bleeding, and in a full body cast, I've had doctors and hospitals treat as if i a med seeker. I can't imagine how anyone could label someone in a full body cast with blood seeping through as a med seeker....Until I realized what you've been doing to them. I had heel surgeries to top it off. The most painful surgery in the book. I would hold my legs at night screaming until i feinted. I survived a 60FOOT freefall unto a bed of solid rock only to be treated like my medical needs were illegitimate. It hurts to think that I've done all I could for my country. As an 18YEAR old boy i enlisted into the united states army. I served years with the redcross, and was even part of the relief effort at katrina and saved many lives, and saw a bunch of things i wish i hadn't had seen. I've seen innocent people off the street from being murdered, and risked my own life to ensure their safety. Now that I'm the one who's in danger, and suffering it would be nice to have my country backing me up 100% like i did for them, but instead i felt the cold biggotry of the medical field, and the judgement of the only people who were able to help me. How can you do be doing this to fellow americans?? you think the principle of, "one pays we all pay", is fit for society?? No it is not. This is society not boot camp. We are americans trying to get on with our lives, improve our quality of life, and with much hope, praying that we can get back to work some day. We are your soldiers, your teachers, your police officers, your chefs, waiters, and clerks, we are the nurses who care for your injured and alleviate the pain of the suffering, we are the ones who fix your cars, t.v.'s, air conditioners, and air planes. we have given our lives to or professions, and our backs to our labor, and when are backs break, you turn on us and leave us die in pain and agony. Many of you don't care, because you have never experience real pain before, and don't know what it is to suffer day in and day out, day after day, week after week, month after month. While you don't understand, we don't expect you to, but we do expect you allow us to receive the treatment we require to go on living. if i didn't have medical treatment i would have never learned how to walk again. you have no idea what it's been like to survive such a deep deep fall into an abyss made of solid stone, and to then be turned away for the medicines I needed to survive. perhaps if we all started sending pictures of our injuries and mutilated flesh you would change your opi

I have been a victim of this discrimination. I have MANY health conditions that cause pain and have lived this way for many years. I had a very good PCP for 20 yrs and he actually listened, tested, and treated my pain accordingly. UNTIL... he started getting in trouble with the government.. they MADE him stop prescribing and pain killers/narcotics immediately. His patients had no notice and were left to suffer until they could find another Dr. which usually takes a month for an appt. With all of these new laws and guidelines we who have REAL issues are looked upon as drug seekers, addicts an so forth. I understand that there are thousands of people that ARE only seeking these meds for recreational use. But that punishes us who have real medical issues that deserve to have some sort of relief from extreme, horrible, and excruciating constant pain that CANNOT be fixed by physical therapy, surgery, etc. Please consider the REAL patients.. not just the drug seekers.

There IS a war on pain, and people like myself are the victims. I have spent the last year trying *not* to end my life due to untreated severe chronic pain. It shouldn't have to be this hard to get medical treatment.

Let the Drs help us. Not drive us to suicide. We arent addicts. We are victims of chronic pain and we deserve to be treated well and treated fairly

Only those living with chronic pain know what it is like. We NEED these meds to function. We deserve to have a life that's not filled with pain. Denying us the relief we need might drive us to commit suicide to escape the unending pain.

I am an older chronic pain patient. My life has been extremely diminished by 24/7 extreme pain. Without the use of the pain medication, I would not be able to leave the bed and help my husband who is still working at 69 yrs. Please do not restrict these medications as we would not be able to continue. Thank you.

I honestly would prefer to support increased prescribed marijuana, and the banning of pain medications. But until people can see the benefits of marijuana and the downside to the harmful and addictive nature of prescription pain medications, I cannot deny that people do need a relief to the pain of everyday life caused by chronic physical ailments.
