We are not drug addicts or drug seekers but pele whose quality of live is low and can only find any relief from intense constant pain with pain medication. Some of us can actually function and be productive from lowering our pain level. You are truly abandoned when you are cut off from pain medication and are forced to experience withdrawal pain on top of it. We all feel helpless and hopeless and scared. It's not fair to people who legitimately need pain killers to achieve any quality of life. Isn't that what they were made for? Please don't punish people with debilitating pain because of the people who just want to get high and abuse drugs.Sep 3rd, 2014Someone from Pittsboro, IN signed.

This is wrong. All patients should treated with respect. I suffer from chronic pain myself and want to lead as normal life as possible.REPORT COMMENTS

Everyone who suffers from pain, chronic or temporary, does deserve control of some kind. I would really love those that aren't in pain, have pain 24/7 and say the same thing.REPORT COMMENTS

I've lived with chronic pain since 1978 when i was hit by a pink Mary Kay cosmetics Cadillac then in 1986 I was in another bad accident & reinjured my back & shoulder to this time doctors would only give me therapy which only made things worse so I self medicated with cannabis which helped me better then anything I've had in all those years then in 1999 I was in a work related accident & reinjured my shoulder got therapy again which didn't help seen another Dr.suggested by workmans comp. that gave me Vicodin's and I could return to work but after awhile they just didn't work as well and the Dr. wouldn't up the dose or anything so I went back to self medicating with the Vicodin's and I could work again I also didn't need as many pills either so if cannabis was decriminalised it would help cut down the need for so many pain pillsREPORT COMMENTS

I work in ERs and Urgent Care Clinics. Now if I see someone with a broken leg, the most I can legally prescribe in Texas is Tramodol. No PA or NP in Texas can prescribe schedule 2 drugs. You are going to cause excruciating pain and needless suffering with this law. It is totally ridiculous to punish patients TRUELY in need due to addicts. This is tragic.REPORT COMMENTS

I've been in constant pain since I had brain surgery for a tumor over 20 years ago. The only way I'm able to work and have any quality of life is the relief I get from my prescription.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm so mentally and physically tired of being in pain....it chips away at my soul everyday! I live in fear that I won't be able to ward it off one day and take the easy way out. The only thing that helps is hoping that someone will listen to my cry and soothe my soul.REPORT COMMENTS

I have Scoliosis, DDD, and multiple damaged discs, as well as complications with C-4 - C7 fusion surgery. 24 hour extreme pain and currently am about to run out of pain medication (after 5+ years) and NO doctor will re-fill. Lost my pain management doctor & primary said she'd do it only once which she has done already and I can't find another pain management doctor. I'm afraid.REPORT COMMENTS

I have adhesive arachnoiditis, I was injured by a doctor and now doctors are afraid to treat the pain they caused. They are afraid of getting in trouble for writing prescriptions for pain meds because the government is going after them. My disease causes more pain than end stage cancer, but I won't die from it. I will continue to suffer the rest of my natural life, there is no cure.REPORT COMMENTS

Drs should be taught the signs of an addict by reading their body language. Some people can't take inflamatory drugs because of other medications they take and doctors should be taught to request that information or to ask for all the prescriptions they take.REPORT COMMENTS

I suffer an EXTREMELY painful disease! It's been said THE single most pianful thing you will EVER experience IF you live! Chronic Pancreatitis! I'm SICK of being labeled a druggie, LTDU, a "doctor shopper, etc because OUTSIDE we look fine, but the HELL that tortures and eventually kills us or dries us to suicide is UNBEARABLE! Don't judge things you don't understand! We just wan to LIVE!!! ENOUGH picking on the patients! The ONLY thing you will do, is push real law abiding decent citizens to Heroine in desperation to stay alive, feeding that black market! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!REPORT COMMENTS
