i think its a shame when my doctor has to worry whether or not he or she will be arrested for treating me or other patients for there medical conditions where pain medicine is needed. insurance companines try to manipulate the system just to save money at the patients expense they could care less how the patient feels i dont know what i would do without my doctor treating me for chronic pain where others turned me away because of insurance companys threating to drop them my doctor is saving my life and taking a chance of losing his practice doing it what would we do without pain mgmt doctors think about that i am so greatful for my doctor stepping up to the plate and treating me unconditional no matter what or how they threaten him please help me and my doctor with these issues thank you for your time and understanding.

I honestly don't know what is wrong with me, other than my hip being off level, but what ever it is has caused me pain since childhood. I wake up in the morning with tears in my eyes because everything from the shoulders down feels like it's been beaten and broken. I've had so many people tell me I'm just a wimp and others telling me that there's no way I'm in that much pain...it's not fair. My wife has EDS and knows why she's in pain, all I have is my hip...my bum hip and orthotic inserts recommended by my doctor that do little to nothing and medicine that doesn't even take the edge off of the pain. I can't get anything stronger than what they've given me due to the ridiculous restrictions that they've put on our doctors. If any one out there doesn't believe that a person in severe pain becomes reclusive or dysfunctional then just take a look at my life...I am plagued with constant anxiety attacks due to my feelings of inadequacy in the work environment, I have lost all my friends because I cannot muster up the strength or energy to go out and do things with them. Pain has rusted me away and now I barely have enough metal in me to be the father and husband I need to be...it's depressing beyond belief...it only makes it worse when your labeled weak or a druggie...

I am one of these patients and it is so hard and so painful the way I've been treated. I've been told there was nothing wrong with me, I was told I didn't need pain meds, they cut me off cold turkey (which is dangerous)...turns out, I have EDS among other problems and I have ben made to feel like a drug seeker, an addict because they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with me, I felt crazy! Then I found a smart risky doctor who had the brains to diagnose me rather than just passing me off. I have been suicidal many times. It's a huge problem and it needs to stop! I take way too many of the pain meds I'm on because I've been on them for 5 years or more but my doctor can't write me anything else. I've had three kids, I'm 26 years old, I have EDS, I deserve a better life. It shouldn't have to be so hard.

I'm going to sign this petition for the same reasons everyone else is signing it. But what I really think is that the DEA is completely corrupt, this is deliberate genocide, people in pain are committing suicide because they are suffering, you could care less, and we're going to have to riot in our cities before anyone even notices us. #painpatientslivesmatter

To whom it may concern, I have been a tax paying chronic pain patient for 25 years. I have been a person who has never increased my dose nor abused or miss used my meds. Its sad that all these so called experts have no clue how horrible it is to live with long term chronic pain if they did they would not make us suffer and frighten our Doctors for helping those who are suffering.I have Avascular necrosis in both hips stage 5 since age 25 from cortisone, back surgery from a fishing injury using Dyna lock steel plates , Cervical surgery ,IBS,carpal tunnel syndrome , and sever Arthritis in my feet and hands. Ive never went early for my medications and never needing to increase my dose. I have been rendered useless due to not being able to provide for my family and myself after years of being a role model patient ( documents to prove it) never been in trouble with the law or even had a speeding ticket at 45 years of age and the story goes on and on..For Gods Sake Help!

We are currently suffering exactly like this afticle talks about, a costly living nightmare, seeing doctors every month to get just enough medication to live in hell from the pain, no quality of life.

They cut back my pain Medication. I am in constant chronic pain. This new law has made it where my provider can't provide me with the medication I need. I am not a junkie or a street person. I don't sell my medicine and don't abuse my medicine and should not have to suffer every day I wake up praying for the Lord to relieve me. Through out the day the pain is so severe I try to sleep if I can. If not I pray for the Lord to take me. No one should have to live life like this. something has got to be done. Obviously who ever made this laws doesn't live in chronic pain.

please stop treating those who live in chronic pain as criminals..Would you like to watch a loved one suffer needlessly day after day? I have had over 12+ surgery's and I'm only 48. I have lived 26+ years in chronic pain. I finally had 8 years of decent pain control until now!! Why don't you listen to the patients. Its not right to make us suffer. Please understand I am NOT naive and do you know some people abuse medication but someone that has ongoing pain for years and is on reasonable levels managed monthly why should I suffer I ask you to please do more research with the people living in chronic pain our life is valuable and some of us cannot function without help please please please don't make it harder on us!!!

I am one of those people who have to go thru these new law's by state and, sea. I've been thru 4 spinal fusions/revisions and suffer with severe chronic pain that a healthy person couldn't handle a day in my shoes. It just is getting ridiculous what I have to go thru on a monthly basis to be treated and, then fill meds. Now we have to be drug tested and seen every two months instead of three. Quit categorizing me and treating me like a drug dealer or addict. I'm not if want action get off your ass'es and, find these Drs ,dealers, addicts and let me try to find some kind of life!!!!

The only time government gets involved in anything is when they have found a way to profit from it! Making it harder to obtain here will just increase black market sales from Mexico, which will lead to more people being arrested! The more people that's incarcerated the more money the state receives and the bigger budget the DEA gets!

I have been prescribed the same medicine for 4 yrs. The majority of that time I filled my prescription at the same pharmacy. About 6 months ago I had to change pharmacies. I went from a mom and pop pharmacy to Walgreens. For the first 6 months I had no problem getting my medicine until yesterday. I went to Walgreens and they refused to fill it but had my doc write me a new prescription for a medicine 4 times more expensive. Its not right. O pay significantly more or do without

This new policy of opiate control is hurting my ability to live. Chronic pain from Marine Corps injuries are REAL. I am never abused my medication. Now I am continually being cut back and my quality of life has diminished. This "solution" has gone too far...who is there to help me? The backlash from the DES overreach is ruining the lives of many people.

Really tiring of blame being pushed on the chronic pain patient for drug deaths. I am not responsible for the depression and culture of doom causing kids to seek drugs and leading kids that way. Seeing a doctor for pain must be a bit harder than the local Pusher man.

It's is not right to deny patients who suffer chronic pain their pain medications. The DEA is taking it too far!!!!! I have been being treated for chronic pain due to Chiari Malformation for 15 years. I now have been diagnosed with additional issues, spinal stenosis, deteriorating discs, bulging discs and arthritis in my spine. I just had my 4th neurotstimulator implanted to try and give me some sort of a life. Now my meds are being taken away. I will be going backwards. And they have been cutting me way too fast causing me to have withdrawal symtoms. What happen to our rights!!! We should be allowed to be treated by our Doctors!!!!!! We should not be treated and looked at as criminals!!!!

I cannot get tramadol. I hada life until the DEA made a decision that people getting treated for pain or drug addicts. I am NOT a drug addict I head pain nothing would correct it like surgery or anything else so I was given pain medication to live my life comfortably. I am 63 years old last summer I was prescribed pain medication and I was swimming every day and felt great and was walking and had a great life and was 10 pounds thinner. Now my cholesterol is up my stress level is over the top I do not sleep and I've gained weight and all I do is sit in a recliner with a remote control in my hand so thank you DEA for thinking that you know more than physicians do. why don't you go do your job with real drugs come across the border instead of people that have chronic pain you idiots.

I am conlnic back and neck pain sufferer. In 2013 I had 8 different surgical procedures including the installation of spinal cord stimulators In both cervical and lower lumbar With only minor relief. For treatment of what my doctor calls break through pain, l'm treated with Norco. Now in order to get the meds that I need, not desire I have to go to him every single month in order to get my prescription that you can buy legally over the counter in other countries . I feel as if I literally have broken my back my whole life to pay my taxes and now that I'm damaged, my government wants to just toss me to the side. My issue is that I would get better medical treatment in a so called third world country. This is not because of the physicians in the US, but because of the wonderful new government restrictions. It seems to me that ever time a government agency sticks its nose in where it doesn't belong, ordinary hard working people are the ones who suffer. I believe that the DEA is ashamed of the fact that it's not getting anywhere with the war on illegal drugs so they're going to regulate the legally prescribed medications so that they feel as if they were doing something. I truly think that all of us who are suffering more because of these BS regulations should sue the DEA for unconstitutional treatment and pain and suffering.

TREAT MY PAIN. how many congressmen have a medical degree? oh so that means they have no business telling a doctor how to treat his patients! theu just want to control everything. so yeah if you have chronic pain you will be dependant on pain meds until you die. but you will take blood pressure medicine, statins. diabetic pills. insulin and many others that you will have to take until you die! whats the difference?

I just moved from VA to FL and I have chronic back pain. I am now treated by pharmacists as if we're a drug abuser. I take my medication as prescribed and every month I have to drive to 1-10 pharmacies just to get lucky and find my low-level Vicodin. I have never been treated so horribly. I hear that now people down here are turning to heroin? Was that the goal of this legislation?
