The paragraph about patients being forced to seek relief outside the law is a much bigger problem than pain meds on the streets! I've seen MANY patients are turning to street drugs like Heroin because their only other option is suicide! So HOW are the DEA, FDA and other involved agencies helping the situation? They are NOT! The only things being accomplished is creating MORE Herion addicts, suicides and more crime. This defeats the entire ideas of these agencies. It's paramount to murder when a severe sufferer is turned down by doctor after doctor. Once again this "war on drugs" is a huge failure and more jail sentences and huge amounts of wasted tax money. How DO you all sleep at night? What would YOU do if your child, mother, father or siblings comitted suicide due to zero possibility of treatment? God help us all.

My daughter has chronic pancreatitis. There is no cure. We try to keep the symptoms under control and manage the daily pain. Doctors are afraid to give adequate pain medicine to enable quality of life. Pancreatic pain is as severe as cancer pain. She should not be punished for having this horrific disease.

Wow,i'm stunned in Ky,newly injured,a YEAR waiting list for pain mgt. where all they offer is shots, that my ins. wont pay for,an no opiates for new patients!!only 5 certified pain clinics in Ky. My pcp told me"MOVE OUT OF KY IF YOU CAN OR SUFFER REST OF YOUR LIFE" The politicians are getting major money for the "war on drugs"an Ky new pain policy is abstinence from meds. But since there is now a major heroin problem, there giving free needles to users to stop hep c an hiv from dirty needles!!WTF I got a letter from Mitch McConnell an Hal Rogers, both were sorry for us people that "fell thru the cracks" but were happy with the results of the bill to stop the drug problems! They would keep "people like us" in mind in up coming meetings on drug issues. My fellow pain suffers ,we are causality's in the "war on drugs".As i cant afford to move out of Ky.i shall have to suffer as long as i can.Its a sad time when death is your best option for relief. Most of the "leaders"are older,id love to know how many of them take pain medicine everyday,an vote for rest of us to suffer....Prayers to all of you!!

The IPAB otherwise known as the death panels, that were included in the 2700 pg Obama health care law ,...which no one in read but the people that wrote it somehow passed as a law of the land. I tried to get details again but the articles that doctors and nurses wrote telling the truth somehow became deleted or the infamous page 404 error " file not found ". How did I guess!. The law was supposed to take effect sometime this year. With the activity reports on websites going skyhigh, I tend to believe not a coincidence. The activity button on the pain patients petition seems to have quit working since the increase in complaints. Go figure. Only thing I did come up with that was not deleted from the internet was that, members of the 15 member board that has to acct to no one, Tell the doctor who he can treat and how much treatment he or she will be provided. The old number on your back thingy I suppose. I started with the ACLJ and went further and deeper. From what I have seen was that, if you are a drain or going to be drain on the system.... The doctors can refuse treatment. Of course it will be written up in a way that does not harm them. Can't prove much of anything except that anything that would shed light on this crapola has been deleted or file not found!. After being witness to the elderly not receiving treatment for illness " and I mean none unless you fight your butt off for them, They are refused treatment. Is it also true that even if you pay cash, you will still be denied treatment to the drain on the system? James sanders Sittingbull289@fastmail.com. To prevent ?too much? private money being spent on health care, those standards could establish just which diagnostic tests and medical treatments are permitted under what circumstances ? and which are not. Thus, the government could prevent people from getting particular life-saving medical treatments ? even when paid for entirely by their own money. {For details and documentation see www.nrlc.org/HealthCareRationing/LifeatRiskRoutestoRationing6272012(1).pdf} Thanks for your time.

    (4) level cervical fusion with neural forminal narrowing on EVERY level + subluxation of C-7 & T-1 - + every lumbar disc is bulging. (I had surgery already on L-4-5) Primary care doctor said, "nothing we can do for you", so I guess a bottle of whiskey and a revolver may be coming into my life soon. I cannot hold my head up and I LIVE in a MIAMI-J neck brace. I use to take Kadian ER and it worked with no euphoria. He REFUSES to prescribe it even for "break through pain". I cry every day and I pay out of pocket for cranio-sacral work, because my osteopath takes no insurance, and get this, he has NO prescription pad, even for TRACTION. Do we not have the right to have our pain relieved at all so we can function? I just want to cook a meal for my family. Yes I am disabled thanks to a DRUNK DRIVER the CT STATE TROOPERS let walk after a burning car crash that closed the highway for 2 hours. Re-victimized all over again, and again and again.

What find frustrating is physicians not dosing each patient individually. Everyone is different and yet some physicians tend to treat every patient like they are the same. What works for one person may not be the right medication or dose for another.

Stop treating our sickest citizens like criminals and drug addicts. You are making millions suffer and face humiliation when they are looking for relief from serious pain. My extremely ill parents are refused adequate pain control because the doctor said it's addicting. They have maybe a few years left on this earth and they have to suffer!? They are not going to become addicts. No one should not have to be afraid to tell a Dr. That they need of pain relief. No one should be harassed at a pharmacy if they have a legitimate prescription! The pharmacist does not have the patients medical history and should not be allowed cross the lines that they are crossing regularly. Please stop the abuse and discrimination of pain patients. Pain patient does not equal Drug addicts. This has gone too far and it's in humane. Truly ill people are needlessly suffering and or humiliated due to this over kill on prescription control. Go after the criminals. Not pain patients.

I am a 38 yr old who is on SSI for the rest of my life from 4 failed back surgeries. Now I'm in the category of " failed back syndrome" 2011 I found a awesome surgeon who did a fusion so I have 12 rods and screws. I ended up being so sick of the monthly routines of spinals and had a stimulator trial next day fell down steps. I just went through 2 years of bone growth out of my jaw. Dr thought cancer but , guess what ? After all those years of D Steroid packs and cortizone shots that's what did it. My bones are deteriorating and I decided that I was done. I know I'm headed for a wheel chair. I CAN NOT understand if your MRI looks like a cut on mess why Can't U HELP me be comfortable ? There are no compassionate drs at least I've never seen one. I feel bad for the people who are terminally I'll..Legalize marijuana atleast

Good lord, I can't believe what an Orwellian society were are becoming. I'm prescribed schedule 5 Wellbutrin, and what amounts to less than 1 Xanax daily. Recently went to Colorado, enjoyed some LEGAL weed. Upon my return, my doctor made me come in for a prescription refill at 90 days. He gave me a urine test. Came up positive. No shit, I smoked it legally. I even told them it would come up positive. Hide nothing. Now I being told I can't be prescribed Wellbutrin for severe depression unless I take a urine test MONTHLY. ********. I'm so sick of special interest groups and their endless games in search of revenue streams. The solution is to move marijuana off the Schedule 1, and make it legal. When an upstanding, contributing member of society is FORCED to take urine tests, but welfare recipients aren't, there is a major problem. This is far from the land of the free.
