I suffer from PPS (Post Polio Symdrom) which can be very painful at times with arthritis and muscle spasms, which comes and goes at it's discretion. Polio has also left me being over sensitive to pain, which is also common in PPS survivors. A few years ago a doctor refused me more pain medication because I didn't take it "ALL the TIME" ...... I only took it when I was in pain! My current doctor (trying to avoid the "Gestoppo" interfering in his practice) doesn't give me anything stronger than prescription aleeve. When I'm in pain I just sit in my wheelchair or stay in bed and "vegetate", I can't even take a shower. When I'm not hurting my spirits are upbeat and I bake, clean my house and even weed-eat. PLEASE don't throw all patients into one group ...... some deal with excruciating pain on a daily basis. And please get the "Big Brother Monkey" off the backs of our nations doctors. -

I am a chronic pain patient with RA, OA & FIBRO. Due to the new laws I can not get pain meds to manage my pain at all. I am a single mother & my quality of life sucks! I am fighting for disability which will only help with some of the financial burden if I am granted it. I feel like it's not fair to my son that he is having to grow up so fast just to help do things he shouldn't have to do. You can say all you want about what it's going to do for him & his character all you want, I don't care. What I do care about is that he get to be a kid while it's time for him to be a kid. I don't want him growing up too fast & becoming resentful as an adult that his childhood was robbed because his only parent couldn't take him to his sports games, or chaperone feildtrips. i just had a 3 level cervical neck fusion surgery after leaving the hospital i could Not get any pain relief for 2 weeks until after my family doc got back from vacation.who handles pain management.insurance being disabled has made sure i can not get continued care when certain meds are not working.REPORT COMMENTS

I suffer from osteoarthritis in both knees, have had a partial knee replacement with a total of 5 knee surgeries in the past 10 years. I'm in constant pain but can't even get tramadol prescribed. My ortho is insisting on an injection that is very expensive and requires insurance preauthorization and will only buy me a few months (the procedure only has a 50% success rate). In the meantime and/or for breakthrough pain I can get nothing.REPORT COMMENTS

Over 4 decades I am a chronic pain patient/disabled due to multiple injuries/surgeries. Social Security Disability deemed me 100% disabled with permanent, constant, chronic muscle, nerve and joint pain; I have not known a day free of pain. I have had the best doctors, treated with all forms of pain management; but I cannot live without legitimately prescribed medications, opiates, in order get some quality of life. More recently, my legitimate Controlled C-II prescriptions are being denied by my pharmacy of 20+ years, same doctor, with my conditions becoming more severe and painful. The DOJ/DEA and other agencies? Prescription Drug Diversion has unjustly caused me undue pain and suffering, anxiety and fear of not having my justified need for C-II Schedule Narcotics? (there are no other options left). In over 40 years, I have undergone every form of pain management available. I do not object or disagree that the illegal activities regarding drugs is AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN an issue and after the last 11 years, they are still ?chasing? the criminals who will always manage to find ways to get their drugs. I DO OBJECT AND DISAGREE with my government?s tortious interference with my well-being and health when I am unable to get prescribed medication, and I DO OBJECT to being included, viewed & treated like a ?criminal? guilty of abuse & addiction; I?m an innocent American that never broke any drug laws, being severely punished because I'm denied medications with legitimate prescriptions and suffer unnecessarily because of these actions by the government agencies, the pharmacies who now discriminate and say "we don't have any", ignore my medical and prescription history and forced to live in pain like a criminal. My doctors and medical history speak for me and what treatment I need. Pharmacies are in the business to provide medications legally prescribed. What are we suppose to do about Chronic PAIN.I was told not to take Tylenol, or Ibuprofen Because i was in so much pain i took to much that was Wrecking my stomach, What are we suppose to do? You say Class 2 is to strong but everything else is to weak ,I'm 64 And I would rather die then keep Laying around the house to limit the pain all day, living in so much pain that I can't do anything, is not a life it's imprisonment! IF you won't let me have medicine that lets me have a LIFE than pass a bill that gives me the right to die because of excess of pain, America doesn't care about AMERICANS any more, there to busy trying to run the world, how about fixing AMERICA FIRST ! The Abuse of not only the DEA but the Board of Medicine, on down to the Doctor's who do not have the courage to give a good Standard of Care to Chronic Pain Sufferers, to let us suffer, to demonize us, and to even Stigmatize us is IMMORAL. We, the Generation of Hospitality Workers, Builders, Hard Physical Work, a LIFETIME of it, add to this IMAGING of Damage to the Body. Do these organizations WANT us to just die off? I HAVE NO QUALITY OF LIFE W/O MY MEDICINE'S. To live in a bed, on a heating pad even WITH Medicine, now...how is that Living? Live in my body ONE day, without relief, I KNOW you could not stand the pain everywhere in my body. I have already had seizures because my Doctor of EIGHT Years was taken down, with NO Integral Services or aftercare for the Patients. I know of THREE people who DIED of seizures. My Optic Nerves are Perm. Damaged, I LOST COGNITIVE FUNCTIONS...and my Emotions will never be the same. NOW...I am told that my pill count was off, and am booted out of pain management. I am not a recreational drug user, I am an Injured Animal. What the hell is wrong with this System. Manipulation of the Stock Market to take away the Opiods that help and PUSH the Lyrica, and all the others that damage the body, the anti-inflammatory drugs that damage the body, but they are MONEY MAKERS. BIG PHARMA AND THEIR CRONIES ARE MAKING BILLIONS, WHILST THIS AGEING GENERATION SUFFERS AND SUFFERS. THIS IS SO TRANSPARENT! Please I am in need of help.I go to the pain clinic once a month not complaining much and get my prescription and then I am on my way. This pain clinic, put me on these high dose drugs and now want to take me off because, I am too high dosed for the government.On 7/21/2015 I had a appointment with this Dr., I have not seen since 11/2014. When I saw him in 11/14 he lowered my fentanyl patch by 25mcg for no reason, but the government, again.I did not want to do this since it worked at this dose. He showed me this paper with numbers and said he is lowering my dose, even though it was working for me. He was very demanding and scared me. I was walking out with his nurse and I told her I dislike him and she said he had issues with anger, but was a pretty good guy. On 12/14 I saw DR. , I told him that I have lowered my dose before and that Bernstein lowered it again and it was not working, so he said if it works why would you not take it and the nurse was there to hear all of it. I also was set up for shots because of my ribs.So, I was put back up 25mcg.On 7/21/2015 I had a appointment with this Dr. I heard him screaming about me and everyone could hear, He said when I saw him in 11/14 he lowered my fentanyl patch by 25mcg. For no reason, but the government. He showed me that I was three plus amount, I should be on .He came into the room raging and I told him that -- who I saw the last two months said he could explain the spine stimulator for my back and ribs I broke, because the first shots worked for about a week. He said he did not know why she would send me to him for this he did not do the surgery. Then he asked what I have been doing. I told him house cleaning, he asked if I go grocery shopping, movies,Church and I said no.I told him it is to hot, I live in Phoenix and its hot in the summer and my girlfriend has been gone and he said not for two months and I said yes seven months. My girlfriend was in Texas for 7 months and I only get $740.00 to live on being disabled. I can't really do much without money. My sister goes grocery shopping, because of money. Dr. reason to take me off is that I have not been active enough the last two months and I was on to much, because the government says so. This is all he asked he was raging like a bull and shaking. He did not let me explain about my money or anything else that I have family and friends over. He slid his chair right In front of me just shaking and screaming and said look this is how much opiates you are on. I told him your pain clinic is the ones that put me on this amount and I wanted to see Dr.. I have been chased out of two different doctors offices in a single year, ... ...because I am old and living with chronic #8 pain. The first doctor that chased me out the door for being poor, I had been seeing for 20 years. I have many other serious issues with my spine. The doctor cannot even listen to me in 10 minutes much less prescribe. He is not being paid even 50 percent of the average insured patient fee. I am on Medicaid and Medicare but I was tossed out the door. I am told that they cannot take the risk of prescribing due to possible overdose. it's impossible to commit suicide on ultram it's impossible to commit suicide on flexeril. I am well known by my visiting nurse for 5 years to be a non drug user. I do not want drugs. I'm living with chronic debilitating Pain. exactly the same way millions of other elderly Medicaid and Medicare patients with numerous chronic illness are being driven out of the medical system. I have been in the pain clinic for one year. I have had 78 steroid shots in my shoulders and neck which is dangerous. I have seen absolutely no relief. I've been refused surgery, because my spine is too damaged. The pain clinic does not prescribe medication, that is the primary physicians job. the primary physician will not do it because he is afraid to prescribe anything for anybody. And because I'm on Medicaid and I have multiple illnesses; its not cost effective to keep me. I like millions of others have been driven into the street with no care. and this has nothing to do with Obamacare!!! I am on flexeril for spasms. the spasms cause my pain in addition to the actual physical damage in my spine. I've have extreme neuropathy from diabetes. I take ultram for the pain. Ultram is not even classified as a narcotic. I should be on something much stronger. I can't get it at the pain clinic because they are not authorized to give medication... ..you have to get it from your Primary. we don't have primarys ... ...we are uninsured homeless and sick. Doctors are not being paid enough to see a patient for longer than 10 minutes. They are not being paid enough to care for us. I have been researching suicide for a whole year. I am considering taking up alcoholism like my ancestors did to enable me to kill myself. thank you for your moment. please go home and enjoy your free healthcare. you have socialized medicine. The taxpayers pay for your health care. they pay your lavish salary. they pay for you to represent them. You have been hired to represent the people, ... ...not the corporations and other rich families in this country. you are supposed to represent the people. I am A people! I am NOT a corporation but I AM A PEOPLE. PLEASE REPRESENT ME! I HAVE SPENT 15 YEARS OF MY LIFE DEALING WITH CHRONIC PAIN. IN 2006 I WAS PRAYING TO DIE. THEN I FOUND A PAIN CLINIC THAT UNDERSTOOD HOW PAIN IN ITSELF CAN DESTROY SOMEONES LIFE. THE NIGHTMARE WAS OVER. I WAS GIVEN BLOOD TESTS , URINE TESTING, AND TONS OF PAPER WORK TO FILL OUT. I WAS TREATED WITH HONESTY ABOUT THE SERIOUSNESS OF MY PAIN , AND THE RISKS OF USING OPIOIDS TO CONTROL IT.I WAS ALSO TAUGHT MANY OTHER WAYS TO DECREASE PAIN- FROM DIET TO HORMONE THERAPY. I THOUGHT THE NIGHTMARE WAS OVER. BEFORE THAT I HAD LOST MY HOME, MY CARS, RELATIONSHIPS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS GAVE UP ON ME, AS WELL AS EVERY NEUROSURGEON, PHYSICAL THERAPIST, AND COUNTLESS PAIN DOCTERS WHO GAVE ME NO HOPE FOR SURGERY OR CURE...JUST CANOT HELP YOU? . I care for my mother, who is in chronic pain, resulting from multiple screws in her shoulders. Not to mention the onset of arthritis and damaged nerves. Since the DEA's war on Class II prescription drugs filling her monthly meds is a nightmare. The literal day spent driving from pharmacy to pharmacy to be turned down while being regarded as a drug seeking criminal is nauseating and frustrating. It seems pharmacists are the gatekeepers and have been elected to pass judgement on the health needs of society. There has to be a better way than being scrutinized by some CVS pharmacy tech regarding the state of our health needs.REPORT COMMENTS
