Let me tell you how I spent my Christmas. I have chronic pain. Pain Management gave me methadone. It doesn't work. It made me sick. It gave me heartburn, made me puke my guts out and gave me zero relief. I slept way too much. Never go to Pain Management. I thought I would get injections and they took my Percocet away which I took only 2-3 days per week and gave me relief. My PCP said he would give me by Percocet back but it had to be left up to the PA-C that gave me the methadone on a daily basis that I couldn't take. The PA-C said she couldn't get me in before 1/4/16. I've been without pain meds for a month now! I don't abuse my Percocet. I've been in chronic pain for a month now and can't function. The PA-C wrote in my record that I am at risk for opiate addiction which is not true. I have to go through the rest of the holidays with out pain meds because of this PA-C. I have documentation. Having Lupus and Fibromyalgia is not fun especially at stressful times in my life. I feel that the heroin epidemic is getting worse due to doctors not being able to give their patients opioids that do not abuse them. This is not good. I'm ****ed.REPORT COMMENTS

This has been an ongoing problem for years now and seems to be getting worse. I have had chronic pain for years now and would rather not be on all the meds that make my life livable. Unfortunately with the new rules my doctor, of 10yrs, has told me that they will no longer be able to prescribe the medications that keep me semi mobile. My quality of life has been poor on the low doses I've had to go down to, but now the doctor is being forced to lessen even that. What are people like me, who don't abuse it, over use or sell their meds suppose to do!? I'm at a total loss and know that when this round of medication is gone I will not be able to get out of bed. The. How are my kids to get to school without my DH loosing his job, my house run, or anything else. I might as well not be here, I've become a burden as things are, but it will become worse when the meds are gone. It is none of the governments business what goes on in my dr appointments as long as we are both being responsible and not abusing these medicines. Please let people with pain live a semi normal life without destroying them. I foresee suicide rates rising due to doctors being forced to withhold medications that allow people to function.
