Just had to go to the ER because these restrictions make it so hard for legit pain patients to get medication they need from the pharmacy. What a waste of time and energy. Why not spend this time and enegy on research to help the abusers of these meds. What is happening now does not work. -

I can't wait for the day when I watch the news and see you people being arrested for crimes against humanity . You are just as bad as chronic pain , you don't know when to quit . If you had a cure for this then there would be no need for medicine . You are smart enough to cause harm , any idiot can cause harm . It is the true smart people who find cures . If you can't cure you need to do the humane thing and treat .REPORT COMMENTS

I have been diagnosed with shingles multiple times, and due to the concern of drug abuse, I'm severely limited to any pain medication and forced to endure the horrible pain. Most doctors any more automatically treat patients like they are addicts if narcotics are even suggested, and I find that pathetic for those who seriously need pain medication. We are not all addicts! These regulations have gone overboard and all because some people ruined it for all of society!!REPORT COMMENTS

I have been suffering from chronic pain since 2003 and the only thing that allows me to have a normal life is morphine and hydrocodone. If I do not have this medication I cannot get out of bed. I live in Cottonwood, AZ and the DEA has already shut down one doctor who was trying to help his patients and now all of the pain management doctors I have gone to will not take me on as their patient because they are afraid of the government. This is truly shameful when people like myself are suffering horribly and cannot lead a productive life and the government just keeps on sticking their nose in where it does not belong!! I do not know what I will do if I can't get my medication, a very scary thought indeed.REPORT COMMENTS

The DEA along with the FDA are a tremendous waste of taxpayers money, with the FDA leading the pack as the number one killer of Americans. They all "think" they know whats good for Americans, and at the same time they are being controlled by the corporate *******s at MONSANTO.If we attack the corporate inbeciles at there homes then they would understand. Bomb MONSANTO off the face of the earth it would be the best thing for the whole world. The DEA has been "fighting" there "self described "war on drugs for many decades and at the same time making drug deals to finance take over of governments(George W. Bush and cocaine).I think everyone remembers the Iran-Contra scandal, where Ronald Raygun threw so many under the bus to save his sorry*****because he was "busted"with his hands in the Cocaine jar and tryed to convince the nation that they were jellybeans! To make a long story short; The DEA is just another government office full of lazy pencil pushers who have the power to turn peoples lives into a bad journey because once again they "think"they know whats good for people. Good luck to all who have to live in worse pain because of the DEA's incompetency.....GROW YOUR OWN MARIJUANA AND TELL THE dea TO FLIP OFF!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

My mother at the age of 78 broke her hip. It was broken for a long time. Her doctor chose not to see it. "she would have to kill the pain". I forced her to go to another doctor. No help. And another doctor. No help until he had seen that I was going to jack him up against a wall if he refused. He gave no relief but did get her to another doctor who did. Good for his sake and mine. They are very sick and unbalanced. But you already know that. Notice they don't wear the white coats no more. To ashamed to is my bet.REPORT COMMENTS

My father is 78 years old and has never had pain meds prescribed. While in the hospital for a week, he was treated with morphine, two doses, to address gallbladder pain. Two weeks out of the hospital he ate Lamb, activating the gallbladder pain on the weekend. A nurse visited - and he gave a pain level of 8 out of 10 after having taken two tylenol. He was flinching, moaning and could not sleep or do more than grimace his 5 steps to the bathroom. His Dr. and the two nurses who have seen him still have never prescribed him anything to relieve his pain. Do we have to sue? Is this a form of elder abuse? I've never seen my father in so much pain and am not going to waste emergency room time for a non-emergency. Its pain, address the issue.REPORT COMMENTS

I went to my family doctor, yesterday because of pain in my lung, due to the fact it has collapsed, twice, already. The last time I was there was in 2012. Yet, I couldn't get ANYTHING, for the pain and made to feel like an addict, by a nurse practitioner who has never seen me. So, I wasted money that I didn't have, for a co-pay. What you people in the DEA are doing is WRONG! There are a great deal of people, suffering and it's because of you. You have no business getting involved, in people's medical care. It's sad that people are turning to heroin and other drugs because they can't deal with the pain, they are being put through. You would never sit back and watch one of your own, suffer and do nothing. Yet, you have no problem, letting us suffer. What will happen when the unemployment rate is higher than it has ever been? What will happen when disability soars? What will happen when suicides are astronomical because people can't go on? What will happen when there's not enough tax payers, footing your bills? There have been addicts, for decades. They will find what they are looking for, regardless of the consequences. There have also been chronic pain sufferers, for just as long. Now, you want to try and group them together. WHY? They fall under two entirely different categories. You need to keep your noses out, of our medical care. You have no right, in trying to force people to live their lives, in pain.REPORT COMMENTS

I had bacterial meningitis with sepsis at the age of 6 in 1962. I'm alive but I have major problems from my brain to something bad going on in my joints! I hurt every day, all day and some day's I can't get out of bed and crawl to the restroom. It was hard for me to find doctors who would treat me because I'm uncharted water when it come to some issues. I do take pain medication, but I would never take to much or hurt anyone else. I'm a retired nurse and know all about the drug abuse. I'm not one of them! All I want is for my doctor to treat me as he may see fit. I DO believe the DEA is going a little overboard on some issues and wish they had someone who hurt each day to understand how bad this pain can be. If I go shopping I can only walk for 1-2 hours on a Good Day and I have more bad days than good. All I ask is to get my medication to help me live! Thank You YKKREPORT COMMENTS

My insurance recently switched to Kaiser when my husband was offered a fantastic new job. I have seen 3 doctors, going to see another one today and not one will continue to treat my legitimate chronic pain. I have been forced to pay out of pocket to my previous physician just to get my medication refilled. I am truly baffled by the judgement and criticism from the doctors after the crackdown. I have two kids, one is only 5 months, I am forced to suffer in misery. Not receiving the care I need, instead of the problem being addressed I am being treated like the problem. First do no harm! This must be true for patients in need, even if that need is pain management.REPORT COMMENTS

After a fall of over 35 feet, and flip flopping for another 25-30, I ended up with spinal injuries in the cervical, lumbar and tailbone. Fractures, ruptured discs, stenosis centrally, and bilateral foraminal stenosis on many levels, and many other issues that are outline on 5 pages from an mri. Every doctor who has seen it asks me how I can be as aactive as I am. I had a cervical fusion on two levels that caused pseudoarthosis, which is a false joint, on two levels and something called adjacent disc disease, both caused by the surgery. This surgery went so bad that I am terrified of any others, besides the best prognosis is 50%, with a 25% chance it will get worse, when one already has the chance raises significantly. I must deal with what feels like a toothache from my c2 to the bottom of my feet. My face even hurts, with sharp shooting pains, pins and needles, which vary in intensity, and electric jolts like grabbing a juiced fence throughout my body even to my hands. Speaking of my hands, theh and my feet tend to not work sometimes, and feel dead much of the time when trying to do anything that requires effort typing this is starting to hurt me, so I will stop, except to say, PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY IN PAIN DESERVE TO BE TREATED RIGHT, AND CARED FOR. THOSE WHO ABUSE THEM, BOTH DOCTORS AND PATIENTS, SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF THE LOOP, BUT THE REGULATIONS RIGHT NOW ARE NOT LOGICAL. THOSE WHO HAVE OBVIOUS INJURIES OR ILLNESSES SHOULD STOP BEING TREATED AS CRIMINALS.REPORT COMMENTS

Kaiser blackmails all pain patients into signing a "contract" to get you pain meds. And you have to have a pee test on demand like a criminal. The Feds need to get out of my medical care, because I now get none. Treatment that I know I should not get for my condition, but that is all they want to do. I thought doctors were to do no harm.
