The DEA has expertise in law enforcement not medicine. These actions are seriously overstepping their boundaries and experience. They have clearly demonstrated that they have no care or concern for the 100 million who suffer from chronic pain. I'm heart sick that we are still fighting with people who don't see what is really happening to us. I just received a message that a chronic pain sufferer took her life last night (or that is when she was found). This person was not in this particular group.... I can't give her name at this point. Her partner has asked me to only tell the story for now. She was a sufferer for a long time. She lost her med's about 7 months ago. After trying to find help many deemed her a "drug seeker" . So she stopped looking. She lost her job and a lot of other things. Her sister is getting married tonight at midnight and invited her to attend the wedding. She was in a lot of pain, but wanted to go. She got on a bus and after so many hours could not sit there any longer...it was to painful. She got off and went to a motel or place to sleep. They don't know everything, but they know she woke late and tried to find another bus to get there. They found her somewhere and the note said something to do with... I can't live like this anymore. I'm not a burden. *I want everyone to know there is nothing in my system and I am not craving anything, but to be human...and I'm not allowed. I really can't say more at this point. I don't know everything. I do know that when she called her family to explain they pretty much told her she was being dramatic. The reason her partner contacted me was to say thank you. The only thing that kept her going was the thought that there are people out there fighting....She was to worn out, in great pain and lost the ability to keep going. The only other thing I know is when she talked to her partner she said "I'm in so much pain I can't make it home and I can't make it to the wedding". She was literally stuck in place she did not know and could not figure out how to get home. I really don't think I will hear anything more. They are completely off the computer now. I just hope if they try to say she was an addict that committed suicide from withdrawal OR they just don't make it sound like she was a drug seeker her partner stands up for her. It's easy for the jerks out there to make up stuff after a suicide. This is the reason we fight."REPORT COMMENTS

It's getting to the point at which doctors wont even dignify patients who say they're in pain because they automatically assume they are seeking some kind of narcotic and it is dehumanizing and nasty. Pain exists to tell us that something is not right and if we automatically write someone off as a junkie they may have a serious issue go untreated and worse case scenario they could die. "Oops, I'm sorry" is not going to give that person's family back their loved one. It is my opinion that the small regular doses of medicine should be available at drugs stores behind the counter . I don't need a doctor to know I'm in pain . I don't need the harassment of any one to treat my pain my way . I no longer trust or respect doctors due to this hate crime . It is time for change . I'm to upset & too much in pain to write what this occasion deserves but this is a contemptible thing to do to people already in a struggle for survival! We are legalizing cannabis but Medicaid don't cover it so expense pretty big; condemning innocent victims of immune system failures & painful bone spurs is a despicable & contemptible thing to do! I even worry about my candidate Bernie Sanders; the one failing he has shown is his evident conviction that adderall and pain pills are ALWAYS ABUSED and no legal use? Why is it when we finally have some quality of life our society says we don't feel your pain so we thing you are all lying! I've been a chronic pain sufferer for over 7 years that started with a fall down a long flight of stairs. I've done everything I was told to do by my Dr.'s, including the artificial disc surgery that is now failing at least 12 years earlier than thought. I was once productive and able to function. Able to work a great job that paid well, take care of my young son and run the household as a decent wife....helping look after my elderly parents like a good daughter would try to.. I was taking the same dosage and prescriptions of opioids for a large amount of years with no changes. Now, due to my spine degenerating and other conditions getting worse, my medication gets decreased in half. (?) I've not been able to recover since, I can no longer work, can no longer even take my 7 year old to the park or even for a walk down the street. I'm home 99% of the time and am lucky if I'm able to bathe and wash my hair twice a month. It has been a struggle dealing all these years even with the medication I was able to receive, but now with the damage my under treated pain is causing not just me, but my husband, son and extended family, it really is just INHUMANE! I've never abused my medication and have always followed instructions. I cannot take ibuprofen or Tylenol as I completely screwed up my stomach and kidneys early on when my Dr.'s didn't believe that I had a severe painful injury at first. I thought life was difficult when I actually had some limited relief to function from the narcotic medication I could receive. I could not have been more wrong, as now I wonder how much longer I can deal with this nonsense. Watching the addicts and abusers still getting their fix, when I won't even try to get on disability because I don't want to accept this life, that I didn't ask for, and accept being disabled under the age of 40! My pain management Dr.'s and spine surgeon want to do more surgery and invasive procedures, but tell me the artificial disk surgery was a mistake! I feel like they are playing Russian roulette with MY LIFE! If it wasn't for my husband and son, I wouldn't even be trying to navigate this nightmare life anymore. Something has Got to give. I don't drink alcohol or do illegal drugs. But my regular urine screens would tell you that. Please stop abusing the people that weren't abusing anything in the first place. Please allow the millions of other CPPs the dignity to live somewhat of a life! Somewhat being the biggest word. I'm tired of being punished for others transgressions. I'm hoping a lawsuit of some sort will come soon or a huge change of this idiodicy will swiftly occur as rightly it should. This is not right on so many levels. The correct studies with the correct information is out there and I know what the truth is. I pray I make it long enough to see all of our unnecessary suffering justified in some manner. I've been on pain meds since 1986, and yes, since my moves around the country for my job I STILL had no problem in getting in w/pain dr. I moved to Plano,TX and found Dr.Ekwani. He treated me for a few months till Christmas time of this year and went out of the county to his home in, where else but NIGERIA!!! Its very hard to find a "White" dr anywhere anymore. You can't understand a word they say. Anyway while out of town he leaves his office in the hands of only PA's. I was NEVER told one time that I had to find another dr for my pain management. The asian PA walks in and says "sorry but we don't have authority to write you anymore of your pain meds so your going to have to find another dr" I asked why and she answered as if she didn't know but wasn't going to refill my meds. Dr Ekwanie wasn't going to be back in the country till Jan 11, 2016. I told her I didn't want to go through withdrawls and she said she was sorry but nothing she could do about it. Ive had to deal w/2 pain docs from Nigeria and the first one was arrested for taking bribes and trying to get women patients to go out with him. Now that I'm having to deal with this one, I'm done with ANY DOCTOR NOT FROM THIS COUNTRY!!! They're credentials come from a Cracker Jacks Box. We've all heard from A DOC IN A BOX? THIS ONE IS DEF ONE OF THEM...TAKE NOT OF HIS NAME BECAUSE HE AND HIS OFFICE PA'S ARE A JOKE!!!...REPORT COMMENTS

I am in chronic pain everyday from falling off a scaffold at work 18 years ago. Doctors want to do a disc fussion and I do not want to. I have had one doctor that told me surgery will not help your problem and doctors that say that are just looking for a kickback. He told me that he could keep me comfortable through out my life with medicine, physical therapy and injections. Well guess what our great government arrest him and other doctors in our state because people want to abuse or sell their prescriptions. You need to arrest those patients and not doctors who are literally helping people. The worse thing on this Earth is legal and you can go buy as much as you want everyday ALCOHOL . People in true pain have to suffer from others mistakes. If you make it where you could go to any pharmacy every few days to get your medicine instead of a whole month supply. I guess I am one of the fortunate ones. As I sit here and feel extreme pain in my back with each breath that I take, I think how fortunate I am compared to others who can only get Tylenol for their pain. I go to a pain management doctor who gives me Percocet and Opana ER (tamper resistant). I also get epidurals, trigger point treatment and injections. My hips and back are constantly screaming out in pain. I haven't had a decent nights sleep in years. My entire body hurts, I don't understand or know why. I'm am hesitant to tell my doctor about my pain because I don't want to be labeled as a seeker. I can't imagine what my pain would be like without the medications I do receive. I have no life. I don't leave my house except for doctors appointments. I can't keep my house clean and a lot of times I can't even manage to bathe. I am losing weight at a fast rate because I can't stand and cook for myself let alone do the dishes. In the past three months I have lost 70 pounds. Please... I beg you, please do not take our medications away. Please give the medicine to those who need it. That is what it is for. Anyone who disagrees with this, as much as I don't want harm brought on to others, I wish they could experience this pain for one month. Then they could see how it robs you of your life and brings on depression and even suicide. By not giving people in chronic pain their medications, what do you think they are going to do? Please... At the very least, I wish the doubters would spend time with a person in chronic pain and see what their quality of life is. Just for the record, I have never touched heroin or anything like that. I'm not a drug addict. I'm not a drug seeker. I am a person in chronic 24/7 pain.REPORT COMMENTS

My wife is in chronic pain and fatigue every day. When given a minimal dose of Hydrocodone, she can get up out of bed and actually do something for a few hours before collapsing back to bed. Without the pain medication she would be in bed 24/7. She needs some kind of pain medication to have even a minimal quality of life. If doctors do not want to treat my pain then they should offer a simple shot put you down we offer it to our pets why not us, I signed the release. If my dog has more rights than I. the medical community needs to do something. When doctors themselves are committing suicide, the DEA should open camps to process person in severe pain to see if the level of pain medication is to there liking and if not have them administer the final medication. I have been the only adult in my home raising two kids a lone at times(once for 7 months) so you all have the rights you do..so it really ****es me off that these so called scare tactics are being thrown on people who use pain meds the right way so that we can have a better quality of life. then thrown in how hard the government makes it for people to get disability it's nothing but a slap in the face. hell you will give pain meds and ssd to addicts, and felons. but not to soldiers or military families who have given up a normal life for you all. I suffer from 3 chronic pain/auto immune illnesses(the worst one will fuse my spine in time), I have had 3 organs removed due to these illnesses and have had 2 major cancer scares. I also suffer from chronic migraines, panic attacks, depression, anxiety, and many more health issues due to my health. scary thing this started at the age of 21. I went undiagnosed for 11 yrs being treated by stupid doctors who blew me off as a drug seeker or insane rather than find out I was as sick as I told them for yrs. I had mris miss read, test that showed I had these illnesses but was never told bc it was easier than treating me. finally now I am being treated for all my health issues and pain. i can walk and sit with out bawling, i can take care of my kids and home now bc my pain is being treated with meds. I do not get high from my pain meds bc I use them for pain. I do not miss use them. I don't drive on them, drink or do anything to endanger myself or others. why hurt people like me who have illnesses that have no cure, that only cause pain, damage and can kill us? bc of addicts who miss use them?? they are much different than us- they do it to get high only. we do not, we don't snort our meds, shoot up, miss use or od. same on you all.. walk a day in our shoes bc the gods know we can notREPORT COMMENTS

To make it worse he had no regard for others by getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle drunk . He is now stillĀ abusive by hurting people who suffer from chronic pain . He has no right to be in charge of any living thing. Just because he has sobriety issues he thinks everyone does . I'm in pain , I'm not an addict , I need medicine for my illness chronic pain . He only has the well being of drug abusers in mind , and to hell to people who suffer from chronic pain . HE IS WRONG , THIS IS A HATE CRIME IT NEEDS TO STOP NOW . Who put him in that position is also responsible for THIS HATE CRIME . It is directed to people who suffer unimaginable pain . This needs to stop now . FIX IT !REPORT COMMENTS
