My heart breaks hearing all the stories of people in pain not getting their pain meds on time or decreased. I also have been a victim, when I went to CVS, for the first time they wouldn't have my pain meds for 9 days. I had to cancel my e-script and then find a new pharmacy. The pharmacist said because of new rules they would be carrying less medication. This is cruel and will cause many patients to die. DEA is barking up the wrong tree. I wish they could feel the pain that chronic pain patients go through. I have severe chronic backpain, without my medication I can't even walk. Methadone has saved my life. I take it responsibly and for the first time I feel like a normal person. There is no cure for my pain. Decreasing a legitimate pain patients medicine will be like giving a person with diabetes just a little medicine. They can survive , but will be slowly dying. That is the only way I can compare this. Thank you and God Bless the person that started this petition. -

Our government is run by fools and corrupt politicians who have there own agendas. I no longer trust my doctor and I can't be honest with them anymore. I live in pain every single day of my life. I've never abused or misused my meds. now my doctor wants to **** test me before I can get my hydrocodone. I've used marijuana all my life. I'll put a bullet in my own head before I bow down to any man/woman. I'm not look'n for a job so stay the **** out of my personal life. I can go in and **** candy rainbows. I can play their game. the government and doctors can go **** themselves. I'll never stop and nobody's going to stop me.REPORT COMMENTS

I have Muscular Dystrophy and have been sick for many many years now; I am only going to get worse and I do not know to do anymore. My pain clinic is cutting back my medications (narcotic) drastically they say due to the CDC's new rules on dispensing meds. I dont know where to turn. I am a good patient. I never take more than I am supposed to and I have never lost my prescriptions nor do I go to the Emergency Rooms to get more medications ever. I am wondering what I can do to complain to someone regarding this. Who can I call or write or email about how unfair this is to good patients who have never done anything wrong?? I want to complain and I feel that they are punishing good patients because of the patients who abuse medications. Please help!! I dont want to give up but they are making it so hard. I want to do anything I can to change this new ruling and help patients like me who are just trying to get their pain under controlREPORT COMMENTS

I suffer from chronic pain and taking these pain meds allow me the ability to function, its the difference of being able to get up and walk vs lying in pain. How dare the dea control my quality of life, the only one they are hurting is the real patients who actually need these pain meds. Shots do not work for me and surgery is not an option, why am I made to have to suffer while real criminals will find a way to continue illegal activities. Don't know how many chronic pain patients will commit suicide over this. Shame on you for causing us to suffer unnecessarily.REPORT COMMENTS

Get politicians and insurance companies out of the equation. I shouldn't have to get suicidal taking my pain meds. I shouldn't have to become nauseated. To be in excruciating pain everyday and not get proper treatment is barbaric. Seems like a harsh word to put out there but when i am left to be my own advocate for my pain to do my own medical care.. it is just that barbaric! Leave me alone shut out from society to "cope" with my severe pain (from endometriosis and ic) by prescribing me anti inflammatorys and pretend like they work, thats a sick joke. How can i possibly even be considered a pill pusher when i have a medical condition...how is it even possible to become an "addicted" to pain medication if there is legally a 10 pill max restriction and i would be lucky if i even get those pills. Is this your plan to leave patients sick and in pain forced to go on medicade or worse social security, I cant go to work bleeding everywhere and curled up in the fetal position...who wants to hire a sick person that misses days to weeks of work due to recovery from surgery or having a ligit sick day. I feel as though I am stuck no doctor wants to help me and views me as a pill pusher when all i want is equal and proper treatment. It seems ...no it IS...a form of prejudice to be given a label and not receive treatment because i have a "womens issue" and it be dismissed as just that. I would love to have these primarily "men" doctors, health advisers, congressman live in my shoes for one day.please by all means take my ovaries ,throw up blood, have pain worse than child birth and proceed to tell yourself you dont need pain medicine....maybe only then my voice will be heard. I can only cry and pray in silence until that impossible dream of equality in the health care industry is heard and the doors for equal paitent rights changes.REPORT COMMENTS

The way chronic pain patients are being treated is barbaric, at best. Our physicians are frighteningly uneducated when it comes to treating pain, and the DEA terrorizing physicians trickles down to us patients, making our lives that much more difficult.. There is no opioid epidemic, stop the fear mongering (opioid overdose is not even in the top 20 causes of death).REPORT COMMENTS

This is wrong taking medication from people with chronic pain and turning us over to PM doesn't benefit any one but the hospital. Thinking about not going. I'll just find a state with MM a relocate. I refuse to be treated like an addict and I'm not on probation. Count my meds? This is stupid. Hope they washed their nasty hands prior to touching my meds in the PM center at the hospital. Just a place to catch another illness as well, like AIDS of flu virus. Saddens me to be treated like an addict.REPORT COMMENTS

An OBGYN did a procedure on me to cut out a fibroid I had. She went to deep and the instrument she used cut into my colon wall. This was 5 yrs ago. Since this happened I've been in severe pain and bleeding a lot. She denies doing this to me. I now have severe inflammation below and can't stand up and walk around I'm in so much pain. I land up the E.R a lot from what she did. They look at me in severe pain and don't even bother looking into the area the obgyn cut through. I live in a small town in MA. Not only do I suffer day in and out all through the night I can't sleep. I was done wrongly and no one wants to fix the problem they created in me, never mind give me any pain medicine for the severe pain I'm suffering in now. When I see a doctor about the problem and what was done to me, the doctor looks at me like I need a shrink. No test being done, no treatment since the day this happened to me. These doctors think I'm out for pain meds only. And I really just need some doctor to check this out and stop the damage that's being done to me from this procedure that I had done. I live In a small town where all the doctors know one another and they stand behind one another. I'm totally bed ridden from this. I know that I have infections and I've been getting worse with this for last 4 years. There's no where to turn for help. Then my primary care doctor drops me cause she can't fix the problem and says I'm to complex to treat! With no notice I was dropped and I'm a diabetic on medicine for that illness and heart medicine I'm on and high blood pressure medicine I'm on. And my doctor just drops me and now I can't even get my regular medicine I need for my other illness's. I think this is plain wrong. I should be suing someone. I can't get over how these doctors are and how stupid they make me feel has I suffer. I've prayed for Jesus to take me. I need relief of what this has done to me. I feel hopeless and helpless.REPORT COMMENTS

I think people that need pain medicine should be perscribed it. The doctors should be able to tell who needs it and who doesnt. I watch my mom suffer everyday from pain and she needs it and her doctor gives her a hard time about it. I am appalled that the DEA is making laws that limit a doctors ability to treat their patients the best way they see fit and add the additional fear of being punished for looking out for their patients welfare. My doctors have been treating me for 20 years and are the best judge of whether I am an addict or not. I do not appreciate the stigma of being looked on as a drug addict by my pharmacy ( Walgreens) for something that is beyond my control. I have severe RA, with a huge pannus formation at C1 and basilar invagination ( which means the top bone of my spine is piercing directly into my brain). Believe me, if these lawmakers experienced one minute of the pain I live with 24/7 for one minute, they would shoot themselves! And I am paying their exorbitant salaries with my taxes! I only make $15,720 a year on Social Security and spent $19,300 on medication last year! The RA infusion medication is very expensive, $1100 a month, and it makes me very nauseous and weak and sick. It is also very toxic and damaging my liver. But that's OK, because it's not a narcotic and Big Pharma is paying the DEA and other government agencies handsomely to allow this, not to mention their huge profits. Opiates are all generic and therefore an easier target for the DEA to crack down on. I do not like taking opiates, they are making me a housebound prisoner because I will not drive while using them. I am exploring alternative medicine, plant and herbal based, along with meditation, with good results, but in the meantime, I am stuck with these opiates, and no one has the right to interfere with the Doctor-patient relationship I have. I cannot take anti-inflammatories, which I like, due to the fact that I have hypertension and had a stroke five years ago. My only surgical option would require me to be in a Halo brace for six months and run the risk of being paralyzed from the neck down, a 90% chance, I have been told this by three different neurosurgeons who turned me away because my case was too complicated because I have had two cervical spine fusions in the past, along with a vascular component where the C2 bone is pressing on my vertebral artery and they typically do not operate on an RA pannuss, plus plus the high (90%) risk of paralysis. They basically told me I am a train wreck and to live with the pain. If that is not enough, I have osteoporosis and so cannot receive steroid injections. I also have severe spinal stenosis and cannot have it plated because of the osteoporosis. I also need a total knee replacement and the pain in my knee is enough to make me cry and have to use a walker because my knee gives out. Yet if you were to look at me, you would never know anything was wrong and not understand why I need opiates. There are many people like me, with invisible diseases which are very real. We and our compassionate physicians should not be scrutinized or penalized for making the best of a bad situation and allowing us to function. LawmakersREPORT COMMENTS
