The purpose of this letter is to request to let people file their I-485 (Green Card) application immediately after their I-140 approval. If not at least, let people file for their EAD (work permit) immediately after I-140 approval. Filing of EAD should not be dependent on visa numbers and country limits. This should be applicable for both EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Waiting time of EB-3 to file the actual I-485 application is over 10 years. At least, if filing of EAD is allowed, we can buy homes, newer cars and most importantly switch employers. This will help US economy as most of the people who work in EB-2 and EB-3 have high paying jobs. And please make EAD and Advance Parole to be at least 5 years. Waiting on visas for over a decade just to file actual Green Card application is not good for employees as well as US Economy. It also leads to brain drain back to the parent countries as people get very frustrated with this long wait. I am hoping you can update this rule so that the whole process is a little less frustrating. Summary: So,please allow applicants to file for EAD immediately after their I-140 approval. And EAD and Advance Parole should be valid for at least 5 years. Requesting your kind consideration in this matter.
