As a person with Narcolepsy, I can tell you, the condition effects how you are perceived at the workplace. The effects of "automatic behavior" which are typical for us, make us look like we don't know what we are doing, or that we are simply stupid, when none of that is true. There are professions, such as teaching where we have spent years getting degrees, specialties---and can't just move into another occupation. These professions among many, make working with Narcolepsy Occupational Suicide. There are no accommodations for some occupations. So, the pressure is put on, which makes the condition worse. So, YES, I feel that Narcolepsy needs to be added to the list of qualifying disabilities.
