I am a highly skilled mechanic and can no longer work due to my license suspension because I can not drive! If my license was not suspended I would be able to pay my child support and bills.

No license... no job. How does this make sense? But yet we want to give illegals licenses? This state is screwed up!

Due to my license suspension I was unable to work. CSS garnished my wages and intercepted my tax returns. Me, my wife and our four children (whom live at home with me) became homeless as a result of back child support for one child not in the home. This law is a warped catch 22. I need my license to work and make money to pay child support...and to live. But its obvious that the state doesn't care about the support of four homeless children.

First of all I get that both parents should do their financial duty to support their child but I feel some American are pushed to the point of homelessness and financial ruin because of child support. This law is unfair in many ways not only does it make it hard to find a job while your license is suspended but it also sticks on your dmv record. Thus when you apply for future jobs it looks bad on your dmv record and makes it even harder to get a job. If you ask me all these child support laws make paying child support even less likely and the percentage on the interest rate on past support due is insane, I wonder how may Americans are in financial ruined because of child support?

My child support is paid in full. I owe my ex nothing, but while I was paying my support she went on welfare for a few months. She took from the state $5,000.00 now they are suspending my license. They want me to pay I have receipts I showed them the receipts they say I must take it to court in the meantime pay welfare back or you will lose your driving rights. These people are so powerful I believe they enjoy ruining peoples lives.

I have been a victim of this law for over 14 Years!! After attempting to be a father the mother pushes me out then files for child support. In the 14 years that this unjust law has been imposed on me and MANY others the only thing that it has accomplished is a destroyed father and daughter relationship and a diminished way of life. It is economically devastating and the only one that wins are the agencies racking in Millions from average people. The only thing that separates this law from a criminal demanding ransom is the strike of a pen. This is an injustice to fathers and mothers alike and MUST BE REPEALED!!!!!!!

In many cases a suspended license can have a provision for work or school. This Law is very unfair and only promotes further personal problems with the person who's license is suspended. It just doesn't make sense to compound this problem by suspending ones drivers license without any provision for work. Child Support is not a criminal matter but is treated as a crime. Please stop the child support agencies from purposefully ruining the life with unreasonable and illegal license suspensions for child support. This is a very widespread problem and is causing men and women all over the country to be discriminated against in the workforce, the dmv doesn't distinguish between criminal and civil suspension so the H6 dmv printout should a suspension or several suspensions with absolutely no citations or criminal convictions. The whole program is unfair and needs to be fixed.

My man is working hard to make things right with his son, and pay his outrageous support of 65% of his income because he struggled to find work. Now he loses his Drivers License..Really .. Wow.. ok please know even as he works 2 jobs and pays his ex he has NO communication with his child and going back to court is not an option as there is no money for a lawyer or time off as he would surely lose his jobs... something has to give, when a man wants to work and support his child should be allowed to do so !!

child support services collected funds from my ex husband for my childeren and kept them with NO Authority and NO change in support! The Judge ordered my ex to fix it because he didn't care that his 156 went to his kids. just wanted to hurt me.... After 2 hours waiting at CSS, I got half back. Why do they hold on to my money. I am to get 78 2ce a month. But they send 72 & 6 lately. What is that about?

Before child support services got involved I use to pay my ex-wife voluntarily double of what she gets now and I have my kids all the time. Since she got them involved I only had to pay half, which was great but now laid-off of work with mortgage and I have custody of my kids 15 day a month. Now my license is suspended and how am I supposed to go for interviews or drive my kids around.

Been current for several years. Laid off. Unemployment made a mistake and paid a week late so only. 3/4ths of the month was paid for april. It was received in may, but thanks to the automated system my license was suspended. I owe zero in arrears. Ironically, I have both my girls for this entire month. (I wont get any support for this tho, and thats ok). If anything, amend the law to remove automated suspensions and stick to federal policy which mandates that lic susp be used only as a last alternative, not as a monetary statistic enhancer which is technically a racket with the dmv.
