Our economy is in the pooper. I've known so-called deadbeat dads who love and want to provide for their children, but no longer have the means to pay. I'm married to one of them and believe, he does not want his child to go without. The law has made both of our lives difficult. We are struggling to keep our small business afloat...I have to drive every day to pick him up after finishing up with my own full time job. Meanwhile he gets nasty threatening phone calls from the child support office and there is no reasoning with these people. They assume anyone who doesn't pay is slime. They threaten to take the money out of the business...that would shut us down. Where has common sense gone?REPORT COMMENTS

My friend now finds it almost impossible to get his license since he has been stopped and cited several times for the suspended driver's license on his way to jobs which then caused him to lose these jobs that public transportation didn't serve. Hasn't found work now for approximately five years. He just wanted to work to support his child support obligations which are now accumlating into the thousands of dollars.REPORT COMMENTS

Having been that young divorced mother needing child support, to growing up, raising my son, seeing him now in this situation, it makes me sad. Fathers/men need their drivers licenses. Let them work! I have 4 kids, 3 from a previous marriage, 1 from my ex boyfriend. My ex boyfriend pays but my ex husband doesn't. I honestly wish he did but if he ever had a drivers license I wouldn't want it suspended. How can anyone pay there child support if they can't even get to work. Some people say ride the bus, that takes forever. If you have that option utilize it, but there aren't any in most small towns. there isn't one where I live. My ex Husband actually asked me why my ex boyfriend wasn't paying more when he hasn't paid a penny since the divorce. I do feel that it should be revoked, my current boyfriend lost his license in California for non payment of his child support. His kids are 22 and 24. He has to rely on others to get to work so they will lift the suspension. Money is what makes the world go around, but we shouldn't use our kids for our own financial gain. I have friends in Arizona, one in particular is paying like $850 a month for 1 child and he makes like $13 an hour. That's totally crazy! Repeal the law and give these people back there lives and licenses!REPORT COMMENTS

This is a very hard time , No jobs , i am a tradesman electrician non -union so no work for the little guy , unemployment is gone , now they are after my license , this will cause me to lose time on my visitations that i have always kept, not to mention getting back and forth looking for work and going to school , state fees, court fees, plus arrearges, then add interest, , this is why people give up , the system seems to be desighned to break you down and take away any hope .something needs to be changed with this system, I should have stayed with my cheating , abusive , drug addict ex-wife is the message im getting or maybe born a woman., then id atleast get a fair shake.REPORT COMMENTS

Divorce caused me to fall into a deep depression. I could not mentally fight back. The child support payments were set too high! The first year I was to pay $6,000 a month. I made those payments for a year but after that year I found myself living in a trailer and behind on all the bills. I had only made $65,000 the year of the divorce.I went further into depression. I lost my job,dream house(I built it),cars, boat and all my possessions including my family. Her boyfriend enjoyed them. It has been over 10 years. There are no kids at home. Now my drivers license is suspended. I still don't have credit or a job.I went to work force and asked for financial help. The Mexican lady laughed saying to her fellow worker that I didn't qualify because I had a truck. The bank just didn't find it to repossess yet. What did I do for a living?
