This is America and we are an English speaking country. It is a slap in the face to Americans to require someone to be bilingual to apply for a job.REPORT COMMENTS

It is getting extremely difficult to find a job that does not require Spanish speaking ability. I do find it discrimination as America is a highly diverse country and everyone should be able to learn English language as a common language to communicate. I have observed Spanish speaking people do not learn English on purpose and jobs are giving them easy accommodation for this. Government action is needed in this regard. Thank youREPORT COMMENTS

80% of the job listings for the career I want (registered medical assistant) say you must be fluent in Spanish or strongly preferred. I'll never be as good as somebody who grew up in a Spanish speaking home so I'll probably always lose my job to a person of hispanic origin. Growing up in school in CA Spanish wasn't even an option in school until middle school. This isn't just for medical jobs it's anything involving customer service.REPORT COMMENTS

Hello i am a healthy white American male that lives in Southern California I am becoming more and more scared about life here.At age 25 years of age it has become extremely difficult for me to get a job.Its becoming discouraging to apply because you have to do it by computer, while looking through open positions more then half say Spanish speaking a MUST. I'm not a political person, nor racist in any way I have two children.President Obama is focusing his time on gun laws in America but yet he lets them in I'm planning on moving to Alaska in 2020 anyways but it is sad that I have been forced to make this decision.Considering my father is a retired military officer who has also became frustrated by American laws.REPORT COMMENTS

I can't believe I got shot down, for a job I'm completely qualified for, because I don't speak Spanish. Not only that, I got told it's "pretty much a requirement, for HR professionals to speak Spanish" . No it's not and it should never be!REPORT COMMENTS

It is wrong to deny jobs from legal residents that they are otherwise qualified for , just because they don't speak a foreign language. I was looking at Craigslist for healthcare jobs for a friend recently and I was shocked to see how many jobs require bilingual skills. This requirement is to benefit mainly illegal immigrants who have not made the effort to learn English. This is totally wrong and it punishes those who have worked hard to learn their trades .REPORT COMMENTS

Being bilingual in United States only means one thing, Slaves required. Only in the United States to we cater to other countries by providing there children with ESL classes so they learn English and become bilingual well that's all good and dandy however why not make it mandatory for American children to learn Spanish before middle school so they can also have a chance at being bilingual ( just a thought) if American children do not learn to speak, read and write Spanish there future in this country will be very limited.REPORT COMMENTS

These so called "bilingual" only jobs, is code word for Mexican only. Somebody needs to seriously under-cover investigate these places and see for yourself the type of people filling these jobs, there certainly isn't blacks, asians or non- hispanic people working them. Something fishy going on also not a English speaking work environment..... discrimination?REPORT COMMENTS
