I also am writing in hopes that the s.1789 be made retroactive.I am married to a man who committed his crime a week before the law was passed.Unfortunately he will be sentenced under the old guidelines unless made retroactive. He leaves behind 4 young boys and a pregnant wife.please,I also beg for everyone to make this law retroactive .Thank you.Aug 28th, 2010Someone from Tifton, GA signed.

i think that if congress has come this far and seen that there has been unfair sentencing then why not make it to everyone that was affected by the old law...i really hope that it does go retroactive...REPORT COMMENTS

I believe the the passing of the 18-to-1 ratio is a huge step in resolving the gap between sentencing harshly mostly minorities for crack cocaine. I was sentence to 10 years in federal prison for the 100-to-1 ratio for only 14 grams of crack! Now, i was wrong and broke the law and deserved to be punish but not HARSHLY like that. I have friends that are still there for similar offenses like Tayrell Larry, Quincy Brown, Patrick Franklin, and DeAnte' Blackmon who was punished outrageously with unfair sentences and is currently still serving these HARSH sentences and theres too many to name them all whom i've met! These individuals have become GREAT law abiding citizens who deserve another chance to raise their children and help to make their communities better than they left them. I BEG YOU TO PLEASE MAKE RETRO ACTIVE THE 18-TO-1 CRACK LAW TO GIVE MY BROTHERS ANOTHER CHANCE! GOD BLESS!!!REPORT COMMENTS
