The opponents of political science research funding are misrepresenting scholarly work in a way that undermines significant long-term research efforts for their own short-term political gain.

Aside from the general benefits that accrue to society due to NSF funding of social scientific research, it should be noted that NSF-funded political science research often deals with issues that are critical to national security.

This bill would set a dangerous precedent for the politicization of scientific research. Research agendas should be decided by the critical questions in a discipline and the canons of science, not by political agendas. Please vote against the Flake amendment.

I am an economist, and this funding is very important to my field, which produces valuable information to policy makers.

I use the ACS for teaching and research. The database has wonderful information that students use to learn about economic theory and applications. Please do not allow the ACS to fall in the trashbin!!!
