The broad field of political science research includes not only the study of politics but also evidence-based study of public policies and their impacts, a vital source of objective information about policies that are effective, those that are not, and their side effects. This is essential information for the Congress and other policymakers of all parties and beliefs, and should not be subject to selective de-funding.

No area of social science research is more important at this point in world history.

The social sciences, and political science specifically, are fundamental to our understanding of the political aspects that dominate our life. They are just as important as the hard sciences. All science should be funded.
