While most legislators and Bus managers sit in air conditioned vehicles and offices 90% of the counties bus drivers and students sit in bus's with no AC. next week it will be 100F outside here in SC. Inside that school bus which in my county will, without any doubt be overloaded, the temperature at dismissal will be in the 120F range. The students will ride upwards of 45 mintues in that heat. You cant leave a child or a dog in a car in that heat.. but you can leave them in a school bus? Come on Congress.. stop this madnessREPORT COMMENTS

I drive a school bus in Florida where the temperature exceeds 120 degrees on my bus during June and august.. The school board voted to move the start date up this year by 2 weeks and they intend to move it up more by the end of 2016.. This puts all on my bus in even more jeapordy by having us ride in the worst heat time frame. There is no fans on the bus and we are sweltering in the heat. Something must be done...REPORT COMMENTS

I can't believe my 9th grader spent 55 minutes getting home on a bus that has no a/c! The heat index was 105 degrees and she wears a scoliosis back brace that makes her 10 degrees hotter than normal. The bus goes in 2 neighborhoods, so it is basically like sitting still at a red light for 40 minutes. ill not and can not do this again!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Today's temperature when the kids got off the bus was 96 degrees with a real feel of 101 degrees. Why is school allowed to start during these extreme temperatures without Air Conditioned School buses. This is really cruel to young children or anyone. Please do something to remedy the situation.REPORT COMMENTS
