It is important for our students, as well as the bus drivers. It would not be a prettty picture if the driver is driving down the street passed out with students on board.May 19th, 2016Someone from San Jose, CA signed.

It is very important to have A/C in our buses because we transport special needs children as well as other children. When it is 80 degrees outside it is at least 90 plus inside...So you can seen where Im going with this. Its not for our comfort but the comfort of our students. It is a health issue and will prevent any emergency that can and will occur. Some of our buses carry up to 84 passengers.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a bus driver made to sit for hours at a time. I got hot and got a drink one day I almost lost my job. My boss said she expects me to sit in the seat with my hands on the steering wheel till students get back on the bus.... 1 1/2 hours after I drop them off. I have to do this three times a day. It's so hot some days and so cold on other days.REPORT COMMENTS

I ride a bus for the after school program I work at and it carries about 30 children. Living in NC where it's already 84 degrees in March, I can say the bus with no aid conditioning is definitely a hazard. Come the summer & spring months when it's almost 90 degrees, it becomes unbearable. I can say that myself and some children on the bus experience nausea from getting over heated on the bus. Besides that, I see why having no seat belts on the bus is a SERIOUS issue. I have trouble with students thinking they can simply get up and walk around the bus because they aren't restrained to a seat. For the sake of the safety of the children, these laws NEED to be changed.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a school bus driver from Arizona, triple digit temperatures about 3-4 months a year here and we (Mesa school district) start in August..... Many buses without air and they generally do not repair the AC when not working.... A danger to drivers (who tend to be older semi-retired) and students....No I am not kidding !!!REPORT COMMENTS

I do a shuttle bus all day and am on bus from 6:20 in the morning until about 4:30 in the afternoon. I can bring bottles of water that are frozen from home, but eventually they melt, become hot and are no longer useful for the heat, we have been badgered and harassed with respect of wearing a simple and appropriate tank top. They do not provide air conditioned bus nor do they provide cold water for those of us who are in our bus all day long. This is an incredible health issue especially among women who may be Menopausal. Thank you very much for listening.REPORT COMMENTS
