Been a suffer for 8+ years and didn't have a proper diagnosis until 2 years ago. This is a horrible disease to live with & it is not recognized enough except to tell us that are sufferers to keep our head up & to try our best. This is not an easy life & were expected to just keep going. It's exhausting beyond belief throwing up daily amongst other things. Good luck warriors. I pray this gets through as far as it needs to go. For all of us.REPORT COMMENTS

I have idiopathic gastroparesis. No doctor knows what caused it. I can't eat anything without bloating and severe pain. Nothing helps it. I'm on Kytril for severe nausea and vomiting that doesn't stop once it starts. I've lost a lot of weight from it. I can't hold down a job because I'm always so tired from lack of nutrients. Some days I'm bed bound. It is absolutely terrible, and this disease has taken my life away from me.REPORT COMMENTS

I was recently diagnosed with gastroparesis. This disease, beyond the horrors of its symptoms of gut wrenching pain, feelings of nausea as well as 'sudden onset nausea' is restricting the lives of people unfortunate enough to have it. The humility of vomiting in public or to carry things to any event you might attend in order to remain as inconspicuous as possible, as you try to wretch silently into a bag you have brought along. Add to that, that beyond the use of endoscopy's, very few Gastroenterolgist's have any idea what to do other than suggesting: liquid /soft food diets' and useless antibiotics to help their patients. Most of us had no idea this disease existed until getting it ourselves-- and many of us have no idea of what caused it, but have readily been told by the gastroenterologists that "there is NO cure." We are hopeful that this 'life altering' condition will finally be recognized for the chronic dibilitating disease that it is. Tomorrow it could be your child, sister, mother-- or YOU, who is given this diagnosis of-Gastroparesis. This is a condition needs to be recognized for what it is: a debilitating, life changing disease!REPORT COMMENTS

It is deffently a disability, Ive watch my 26 year old son life become horrible. Not a day goes by thats he's not doubled over in pain. Severely malutrition, takes days for food to pass if he's able to keep it down. Doesn't have the energy to get out of bed. These things are just the beginning of and how he's clinging to life.
