I was diagnosed in 10/2015. Feeding tube placed in 12/2015 (was told that I could have dropped dead any moment because stomach was bloated and full of food that had festered for weeks!). Pacemaker implanted 03/2016. Gastroparesis is horrible! I am stuck in bed several days at a time without even the energy nor the will to shower until I can't stand myself. The pain is incredible. I can't make plans. I can't work. If I have any stress, my symptoms flare and I vomit. It's pure misery and incurable!! It needs to be recognized. We are slowly dying.REPORT COMMENTS

I suffer from gastroparesis every day. This is not something I would wish on my worst enemy. I suffer with nausea, throwing up, Body pain that sometimes I can't even get out of bed. I don't sleep at night or sometimes in the day because I am always throwing up. I cry to myself because nobody really understands what we are going through. Pain, constant nausea, constant throwing up, no life. This is every day and sometimes people don't want to live like this anymore. We need to make this a disability. It's very rare but we need to speak out, we need help.REPORT COMMENTS

I lost my son from complications of Crohn's disease, which is similar to gastroparesis, in fact I think gastro is a pre Crohn's condition. He died 3 years ago. Now my daughter is diagnosed with Gastroparesis. I cannot lose her too. She has to work to have insurance so she can get treated for this horrible disease.
