I have been living with Gastroparesis for 5 years. I would love to be able to hold down a job, but I can barely hold down food. No food means no energy. No energy, no ability to function. I applied for disability at the behest of my social worker, but unfortuantely, I was denied, saying my case was not severe enough. I have three kids to care for. I also have a gut wrenching, throat clenching fear, that I will never be able to go back to work again because every time I try to ingest even water, I have to deal with naseau that makes it hard to focus. This illness has ruined my functionality.Apr 22nd, 2017Pamela R. from Bedford, OH signed.

Watching our youngest daughter fight thru GP the last several years has been so difficult. This needs to be recognized officially, as every bit of help that people with GP can get is so very important to them and their loved ones.REPORT COMMENTS

This illness has taken so much from my future mother in-law, and there really is no end in sight for her. Everyday is a struggle for her, and normal activity is few and far between. She continues to fight everyday, and has had so many surgeries we've lost count. Still with this treatment she has yet to go a full month without a lengthy hospital visit. This is her reality, and there is little to no help for her, that needs to change.REPORT COMMENTS

I thought I got the stomach flu 17 years ago, and I still have it. Gastroparesis is a terrible disease and you shouldn't need to have out of control diabetes to get disability like I had.REPORT COMMENTS
