I have been unable to work since 2013, and I made more money than my husband. I lost a good job of 13 years because, although I had FMLA Intermittent leave, I exhausted all 3 months of my FMLA time and remained very sick. I applied for disability in 2013 and was denied, went all the way to court and lost. Now I have to start all over & I am much worse. PLEASE HELP

Your mind says" tomorrow I'm gona do this n that" but your body says, "no your not". It's a daily battle with this sickness that you can't do nothing else but try to eat something you can keep down. And hoping you'll have the strength to make it to the restroom. Nobody can work like that in a public enviromet and this is cause for disability.

I was diagnosed in 2016 but the effects were felt for many years before they could diagnose my problem. It's so hard to get help because many doctors just don't understand how it debilitating it is and how much it affects your quality of life.

This is a very dibilitating disease that I've seen my wonderful niece suffer with for years. I also have a friends daughter who struggles and the medical bills are insane and so are the side effects. Please help those who literally starve or suffer the effects of eating solid foods.

SSA! Please! Listen to us and the many people suffering and dying from this disease! There are so many of us who can't work, can't even hardly get out of their bed or walk to the mailbox! A lot of people die solely due to the fact that they can't work, and can't afford insurance, and most certainly can't afford the expensive treatments and countless ER visits. This disease affects women, men, and CHILDREN. It's extremely debilitating for many and most have lost so much quality of life, this would help so many people suffering! Please here us! We are starving for a cure and starving for help and awareness.

I have become disabled due to this horrible illness amongst many other autoimmune illnesses. It's a horrible condition that makes an individual's life extremely difficult on a daily basis, it is excruciatingly painful and forever fluctuating between extreme highs and lows. It robs one of their self confidence, purpose, self worth, and "normalcy ". Your identity is forever changed you No longer live; YOU EXIST!

My daughter has been hospitalized twice in the past year from gastroparesis. She is 14. When she gets a flare, she often can't even keep water down and even had to have a feeding tube for 2 months. If she can stay out of the hospital, it still takes her a minimum of three weeks to just to get her energy back. She will live off of popsicles and gummy bears for the first week (if she's lucky), crackers and low calorie soups the second week, and then we slowly add other foods. She feels dizzy, weak, nausea, incredible pain, etc. We do everything the doctor says plus doing everything else we can think of. Some children outgrow this terrible disease and some don't. I do not know how she will be able to be a functioning adult with this disease. She had to do summer school last year and will have to do it again this year from falling behind from illness.

Awareness is so important...this is a very miserable Condition. Difficulty in the right dr that knows what they are doing the struggles a family goes thru..emotionally financially care taking...the hurt n confusion. In your childrens eyes when they don't understand they just know mommy sick...what it does to a person themselves. ..

Gastroparesis is a miserable condition to live with. It can profoundly affect one's daily life and reduce the overall quality of life. For some, it is difficult to have to work while suffering from the effects of gastroparesis. I ask that you give serious consideration to this request and act accordingly.

Although my Gastroparesis has not progressed to the point where I am disabled, I stand in solidarity with my fellow Gastroparesis warriors and believe they should have the right to apply for disability, just like any other painful, unpredictable, and emotionally draining illness.

The Life of a gasteroperisis patient is torture. The very thing that sustains Life : Food and water, becomes your enemy. The pain is excruciating and the nausea and vomiting is a hell it's own. It's like living every day of your life with a bad stomach virus. The problem with this is you never become adjusted to it. It makes the patient nonfunctional. Holding down a job is next to impossible. Please support us with this legislation.
