My wife has gastroparesis and her life has completely changed. She is always too tired to enjoy life, always throwing up, constant pain and is never herself anymore. At times she has problems sleeping because she's up at night throwing up happens in the daytime to. She used to be so strong and now on most days remains weak. It is hard for her to eat so she just drinks water to stay hydrated. when you can't eat or drink , or if you do you will be vomiting into some container. Yes , it is a problem. how is a body to function with out water and/or nutrients? yes i have diabetic gastroparesis. I have lost jobs because of how I looked , which was severely underweight for my height ( 5'7 - 97lbs). Not sure why you think people who suffer from Malnutrition , are able to be productive in society.REPORT COMMENTS

I have idiopathic gastroparesis & I'm here to testify that yes, it is a debilitating disease. Just going to the store to pick up milk causes horrible nausea. Making plans to go out to an event you've been invited to depends on how your gp is that day. You really can't make plans, it's like a prison. Some are confined to their homes because of the severity of symptoms. It makes life extremely difficult & it's virtually impossible to work outside the home.REPORT COMMENTS
