I am a GP patient. I struggle each day with pain so bad it leaves me curled up crying and wishing I would close my eyes and not wake up, vomiting, nausea that never ends, starving because I can't keep anything down but forced to try and work because I have bills and need medical insurance because I would die without it. People who don't suffer from this have no idea the hell we live daily. Your have to travel long distances just to find a doctor who actually knows how to treat this condition because there are very few. We need awareness on this condition. I do not understand how you give someone disability for a mental issue but deny us the same right when we are literally fighting for our lives daily...REPORT COMMENTS

My oldest daughter found out she has this debilitating disease and watching her suffer with it causes me to feel useless in being able to help her much with what she's going through. I worry about her constantly; especially what her future is going to be like. I can't believe that it's not considered a disability! If any of the congressmen's children had this disease, you can bet there would be something done about it.REPORT COMMENTS

No one should have to live with a disease like this. Being paranoid to eat and drink; for fear of pain and sickness, on a daily basis. Two vital and fundamentally natural parts of being a human (or any living creature); reduced to something you almost dread; from the outcome. Not acknowledging a disease such as this as a disability - is simply ignorant and heartless. I know. I live with it.REPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered from this horrible disease for 10 years. I had to leave my job, that I loved, because of this disease in 2015. It has became severe to the point that most days I have trouble just to hold down water. Some days I cant eat or drink anything. Every day, I have to stay close to a bathroom or carry a bucket around with me. I can no longer lay down in a bed because I risk aspiration. So for the past 2 years, I have slept in a recliner. I really should not say sleep, I nap. I do not get no more than 3 hours of sleep in a day due to severe pain and other symptoms. This is not living. This is just surviving at this point.REPORT COMMENTS
