Had to file bankruptcy last year due to hardship and lost my house, and now stuck dealing with this credit. If I had purchased my home one day later I would not have had to pay it back due to the three year rule. It is not fair to have one rule for 2009 onward, while those in got the credit in 2008 struggle to pay.REPORT COMMENTS

It is not fair that within one year you allow the homebuyer credit (which is great in and of itself), yet one mass of people have to repay it, while the other mass does not. Most people that purchased homes in 2008 have taken quite a loss due to the market. This leaves us with much less equity than people that purchased later. Combine that with the repayment or the tax credit we are being left high and dry. I ask that the 2008 Tax credit be changed to a non-rpayed credit and not a loan.REPORT COMMENTS
