I bought in November and as most discovered that if I would have waited I would have gotten free money. Now instead I get to pay mine back and the other don't. Not fair at all.

Had to file bankruptcy last year due to hardship and lost my house, and now stuck dealing with this credit. If I had purchased my home one day later I would not have had to pay it back due to the three year rule. It is not fair to have one rule for 2009 onward, while those in got the credit in 2008 struggle to pay.

It is not fair that within one year you allow the homebuyer credit (which is great in and of itself), yet one mass of people have to repay it, while the other mass does not. This should be consistent. We cannot all afford to pay $500 a year, while if we had waited a year we would be free of that debt.

Most people that purchased homes in 2008 have taken quite a loss due to the market. This leaves us with much less equity than people that purchased later. Combine that with the repayment or the tax credit we are being left high and dry. I ask that the 2008 Tax credit be changed to a non-rpayed credit and not a loan.

I bought my home in mid November & was going to wait till 2009 to close, but I was told that it would be included in the 2009. Who lied to me. Now that I am retired this has turned into a real hardship.
