I bought my house in September of 2008 right before the housing market crashed. My sister bought a house 3.5 months later and not only got $500 more of a tax credit, but does not have to pay it back. I got a first time home that immediately went under water and have to pay back this credit. I have kept my home, made all payments, never been late, and did not short sale even when the market was in dire straits. I think I have proven that I deserve some kind of break for bearing through one of the worst markets in history.REPORT COMMENTS

Dear Legislators, I purchased my home in October of 2008 and have to re-pay the $7,500 First-time Homebuyer's "Credit," which I have been doing. I am a U.S. citizen from birth and served in our Navy for four years. Yet, only several months later in 2009, a friend who is from Russia and had been a citizen for less than a year received the $8,000 credit that she does not need to repay. This is grossly unfair on many levels. I respectfully request that the repayment forgiveness be made retroactive and apply to everyone who received the First-time Homebuyer's CREDIT. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

I feel it is unfair that first time homeowner in 2008 are required to repay the $7,500 and those who purchased homes in 2009-2011 received more money and do not have to repay. Please reverse the mandate to repay for 2008.REPORT COMMENTS

In 2008 I was employed and did not need to take the credit. This credit was forced onto first time homeowners as a false incentive only to be tricked into paying this back.REPORT COMMENTS

Unfair repayment requirements when the 2009-2010 credit is not required to repay and is set up identically. Had to pay remaining balance on my 2015 returns over $4000. Bad timing for this as taxes continue to increase and cost of living rises. I wish my (all) elected officials would stop all the nonsense. It's just hurting the good hard-working people you represent! I have no more to give!!!REPORT COMMENTS
