I was disgusted when a friend of mine bought a house a few months later and laughed about how he wouldn't have to pay his credit back. -

I have kept up on all payments, work very hard have a job better than most and find it appalling that I am being penalized for doing the right thing, when most other first time buyer credits have been forgiven, disgusting.REPORT COMMENTS

This is truly not fair. I purchased my home in 2008 and have been a great home owner who pays my bills on time and never defaulted on my mortgage. However, it is nearly impossible for me to get out of my home due to the crashing of the housing market. I know many homeowners who got the $8,000 free credit who have already defaulted on their mortgages and now their homes are bank owned. Please consider waiving this repayment for all of the 2008 homebuyers who are in good standing with their mortgages.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm about to sell my home and have to pay the remaining amount. I'm not trying to flip my home nor trying to lose money. Since buying I went from myself and one cat, to now my wife two more cats a dog and two kids. I would stay but I'm out of roomREPORT COMMENTS

My wife and I used the loan to help in our purchase of a 2 bedroom condo. Now with a growing family we need something bigger and not on the 3rd floor. This loan has prevented us from upgrading because it must be payed back in full when you sell. This home buyers incentive may have been a good idea in thought but it has placed many families in a worse position had they not purchased a home to begin with. Please consider eliminating that it must be repaid, or at least that it must be repaid in full when home is no longer the primary residence. Thank youREPORT COMMENTS

This was a credit to help the community and the housing market. Now we are stuck in this home because we cannot repay the loan in full, which is required if it is not your permanent residence. I encourage congress to look at the implications of having to repay this loan on the home buyers from '08.REPORT COMMENTS

I think its not fair that i have to pay back my tax credit. People who bought a home a year later gets 500 more and dont have to repay. Please stop the 2008 tax credit, and treated like the 2009 tax credit.REPORT COMMENTS
