Child support should not ruin one person due to a separation. I have child support set to a salary I no longer make. It is do bad I can't afford food for myself. My boys have made it known to the courts they want to live with me. I'm fighting for them but the system waits til they totally ruin you. So you can't fight anymore. So wrong!

Child support has basically taken my kids away from me. I live over 100 miles from my kids and I can longer afford to drive to see them or afford giving them things they needs. Support laws have basically destroyed my any hope of me being with my kids. This has to change!

I have my kids 32% of the time. How the broke my kids into percentages I have not idea. My court papers instruct me to provide the kids with there own room. So I did. When the mother found out I went and got a bigger place so the kids can have there own room she took me to child support to get it modified. The court found that I could pay a little more. When they are always at my house anyway. Now, I'm about to lose my housing because I can't even afford a 1 bedroom now. I just moved into this place and signed a lease. It's just a small 3 bedroom apartment. This lady lived with her parents. She pays $500 rent. I pay $1400. Now I can't even pay $500 because childsupport have reduced me to 6.25 an hour while she makes $30 an hour and lives with mommy and daddy. San Francisco, Bay Area. I'm going after my kids but we are going to split this down the middle. No more standing by allowing the court to side with the mom. NO MORE!! FATHERS GO AFTER YOUR KIDS TODAY!! STAND UP AND GO GET THEM. THE STATE HAS TO SIDE WITH BOTH PARENTS. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE LAW THAT SAY THE WOMAN GET THE KIDS.

I once asked how the courts could issue a work order for me, who had recently been laid off, and say nothing to the mother who hadn't worked in nearly a decade. They simply told me "That's not how the laws work". I hope we win this fight for parental equality and correct these sexist laws and culture of a court system that sees fathers as nothing more than an ATM. If a mother will not work to support the children, child support should not be allowed to redistribute the working parents income to subsidize the mother. A logical rule should be, if the mother will not work and needs all of the father's money, why shouldn't the father just have custody?

I've never understood as to why child support laws permit for a parent to have to pay a percentage of what their monthly income is, when two individuals come together and create another human being it is 50/50 so why is it that if the relationship doesn't work out why does one party have to pay more than what it actually cost to raise a child? It takes two people to have a child and both parties should be equally responsible for the financial cost that come along with it. How is it justified to lets say take 15-30% of someones income to be placed in the hands of someone else when we (parents) know that we don't need $1000 (give or take a few hundred) to raise a child, it NEEDS to be 50/50 up until the child is able to stand alone financially, too many people are being taken advantage of while the other is reaping the benefit of "extra spending cash" for material items that have no impact to raising a child. Child support laws need revision!

As I mentioned previously, according to the court paternity has been established and it does not have to according to a GMT test. How can the court just assume a child is mine without the right to a DNA test. Isn't that against the law?

The problem with child support it has nothing to do with child support. You are in fact supporting the States welfare system as a child support order is commercial paper sold as a derivative. Did you know you are not making payments to a State agency? A Dun and Bradstreet will reveal it is a private banking concern.... The most unholy system designed by man was designed in the United States.

I don't even know what to do anymore. Bank account frozen even though the arrears are in the account they won't take it. Now they are in the process of suspending my licence for not paying. They froze my account so how can I pay anything. Im so dejected and confused and completely in awe that they can not seem to take the money that is sitting there while I starve and cannot pay rent.

Been suffering for years now, and I just have to stand by and watch my children pay the price while their mother spends all the money on shopping and taking multiple vacations. She turns around and tells the kids I only give a $100 month when I pay over a thousand. This has basically put me into poverty while I have to sit back and watch my kids futures go down the drain. They have gone into my savings and taken my money even though I have been current on child support.

I've seen far to many men treated unfairly by current laws, which in turn, hurts the children these laws are meant to protect.

These child support laws are unfair and does not offer the men any recourse to do better, when they learn better! Some of them are both economically and educationally disadvantaged. Most of the money go towards interest accrued. The children are not the most to benefit from these unfair laws!

Please help us with this fight, it is so so sad, what this law takes from us.The ability to be comfortable as U.S.CITIZENS! When this door is closed you do not help any one, the U.S. GOVERNMENT is supposed to take care of all man kind. That is why so many foreigners bring their families and settle in here in our Beautiful America. But here's the thing the U.S. GOVERNMENT really cannot continue to get away with this! We the people have constitutional rights and this law is clearly made up without regard of those rights and laws! Thank you , P.S I will never be able to see my son, and live happily ever after, until you make the changes. Please, he is 13 now and all we want is to be back together again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE THE CHANGES!

I think both parents should support the kids. Im a single mother and I do my part and very happy that my kids father does as well. we are able to do everything outside of the system but I know a few good men that their kids mother have gotten child support and don't take care of the kids as they should and keep going back to court for more money. Its sad.

My ex cheated on me, married the guy she had an affair with and now I'm the one who has to pay. Every visit to court is basically the judge believing everything she says and I'm made out to be the bad guy. Meanwhile, she badmouths me to the kids and forces them to call the new guy "Dad." Her and her new husband (they got married 3 days after our divorce) make far more than I do. I have no problem with supporting my children, but I feel like I was railroaded by the person I trusted and now I'm being railroaded by the court for something I had absolutely no say in. I even have to petition the court to only pay 25% of my normal payment while the kids are with me during the Summer. That one blows my mind. I'm paying her money for the time the kids are with me. This whole thing is completely one-sided and needs to be fixed.

I am a female.. I do not have any children and I do not pay child support. And I signed this petition because the child support laws are completely unfair. All custody / child support and family court laws seem to be in the favor of the mother regardless of the circumstances. If two people have a child together, then together they should support that child---- REGARDLESS of whether or not they have remained together as a couple or not. I also think there should be a petition to regulate how child support is ordered. If the courts can order child support the courts should be required to monitor how that child support is spent. It happens all too often that one parent (usually the father) is struggling-- paying a ridiculous amount in child support-- and the other parent is not at all spending it on the child.
