I've suffered from 42 yrs of combat PTSD from Vietnam. We need a program to assess ALL veterans before discharge with follow-up care if needed. I pray this makes the President's desk and receives positive action. Michael, Navy River Assault Squadron 15, Vietnam. Michael .. .. .. -

I love a man who suffers from PTSD. The way the government and the Army neglect to care for its own is a travesty and I have seen it first hand. Something needs to be done and it needs to be done NOW.REPORT COMMENTS

This is the least we can do for our Veterans. No soldier should feel stigmatized after having served and survived. Thank you!REPORT COMMENTS

I am a Vietnam Veteran 100 % disabled because of PTSD.This took 6 years. By the grace of God I stopped my suicide attempt. 150,000 + Vietnam veterans committed suicide. This kind of program is sorely needed, and is the least we can do for our Afgan and Iraq vets.REPORT COMMENTS

We need to take care of the troops. In the past the US Govt always took care of the troops. It's bad enough that these fine men and women have had to serve in a war that was a complete lie. Now the same politicians who lied the country into this mess are abandoning the troops. This is not the proper forum, but where are the war crimes trials to put the lying politicians behind bars?! Now is the time for our country to help our wounded warriors.REPORT COMMENTS

For 40 years I lived with nightmares and night sweats before I finally took the initiative to seek help. I strongly recommend that returning combat vets seek out help for PTSD. It won't make you a pussy. It will give you a better life.REPORT COMMENTS

I lost my husband two years ago to suicide. He was a Veteran. Please don't let anyone else feel the pain I felt. Step up and help. Out veterans give so much as ask for so little.REPORT COMMENTS

PTSD has always been a major problem for members of the military since the dawn of time. Given that we now know how to deal with it more effectively it is only fair that we help our valiant volunteers to serve and return home in the best shape possible. I agree that military families should also receive training and assistance.REPORT COMMENTS
