It's bad enough they are there fighting a war at all...but to come home and want to die because of it?? Not acceptable! We need to help them, and make help acceptable to them.REPORT COMMENTS

Our government owes it to these brave Americans when they go to war to fight for freedom and consequently come back home with PTSD, depression, panic disorders and the like to acknowledge the need for mental health care. It's also time for America to stop placing a stigma on mental illness. A diseased brain is no different from a diseased kidney!REPORT COMMENTS

I know someone personally that committed suicide - a veteran whom we all thought was happy. It was in the Madigan parking lot - he was in his truck and shot himself. Wasn't found for a couple of days. His wife told his story on the front page of the Olympia. How awful. And 18 a day? Something has to be done. We can't have 1 a day, 1 a year..these guys deserve to be happy and safe.REPORT COMMENTS

I work with military personnel and their family members and see so many ways that people are injured by their experiences in the military--in their lives, in their relationships, their ability to even sleep at night and not explode in rage at their loved ones. Help our military personnel get access to help without stigmatizing it and making these dedicated men and women avoid getting help because they're afraid of negative consequences to them in their units or careers.REPORT COMMENTS
