ALL vets need this; those who do see combat and those who make it possible for others to see combat. The military is NOT made up of one. It takes ALL of us to succeed! United we stand, devided we fall.

The govt has mind-science down to a T. It's time that it gets put to good use in a big way, for the sake of all vets and their friends and families.

The suicide rate is now up to 27 for May.That means we are losing more than 1 soldier per hour. This is unacceptable. We are failing our soldiers, families and friends. I lost my son to suicide on May 27th,2011 after 2 tours of Iraq with a Purple Heart and Army Commendation Medal. He was my only child and I do not want to see one more family and friends suffer the way my family and friends have. They had our backs now lets demand the VA step up immediately or let the private sector take over. I will miss my son who is a hero for the rest of my life To honor him we must demand the programs to prevent these suicides and have programs for PTSD during boot camp, post deployment and support groups available like 12 step programs. My son was diagnosed in December with PTSD but did not reveal this due to the stigma. He had an appt with the VA scheduled for October, 10 months post deployment. Yes the system is failing them and us and I am demanding change! Post www.thelongroadhome.org website on your facebook and encourage others to do the same and sign the petition..

I have a close friend that spent his entire military career in Iraq. He was diagnosed with PTSD and they kicked him out now he is divorced, trying to get his self together but it is hard without the support he needs.

Our veterans fought for our freedom, the least we can do is help them learn to deal with the toll it's taken.
