Animals killed in these shelters didn't ASK to be here - they are innocent souls of human stupidity. We need to take responsibility for our own actions. True, the "shelter" may not have bred those puppies or decided they didn't want that cat, but the animals didn't make those choices either. There are people linked all over this country willing to HELP. Let's turn Animal Shelters back into SHELTERS again, not mass killing facilities. Thank you for your time.REPORT COMMENTS

It's true. I live near a very high kill shelter and just recently it closed bc of a distemper outbreak and they almost got away with killing all the animals in the shelter--over 500!!! The public somehow found out and ALL of the animals were saved. Now the shelter is opened again and back to the killing of very friendly highly adoptable dogs and cats. These animals are not given a chance--please help us help these innocent animals!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

in the town i use to live in the city gives 2 ladies 5 days to get the animals into rescues, fosters or adopted before they're killed. sometimes it just isn't long enough to do this. like my friend trudie said the way these animals are killed is anything but humane.REPORT COMMENTS

These animals have no choice and no voice. Please be their voice. We also need to wake up and help owners to spay and neuter their pets which would effectively stop the problem before it begins. Animals need a chance to get rescued and adopted. A spay/neuter program needs to be offered across the US so everyone with a pet can afford to spay and neuter.
