Animals have no voice. Stricter laws are needed to give them a voice. No animal should suffer at the hands of a human. Apollo and others have died horrific deaths while their perpetrators get minimal punishment. I favor background checks on anyone wanting to adopt or buy an animal in PA. I favor a monthly check on all animals in their new homes for the first 6 months after adopting or purchasing an animal. Animal cruelty has serious consequences for humans is a phenomenon known as the ?erosion of empathy?. It?s been known for some time that most serial killers start their murderous careers by killing animals: Jeffrey Dahmer impaled the heads of cats and dogs on sticks. The self-named Crossbow Cannibal from Bradford was reported to keep large lizards which he fed on live rodents. Cruelty to animals is the first step; once this moral hurdle has been stepped over, it?s much easier to be cruel to humans. Animals are innocent and due to negligence end up in terrible situations. Many uneducated and sick people end up using torturous crimes as a way of amusement on these poor creatures. People who abuse animals turn on their own kind when they are older. If we can stop animal abuse, we are one more step towards helping mankind. If we enforce stricter laws reqarding animal abuse, it will keep will help our society and our furry friends safe. These so-called sports players that used animals should have been punished the most for their harmful disqusting treatment and been made an example to show the rest of our society that we are NOT going to put up with animal abuse. Funny, how people in high places can get away with so much! Plus, I agree that they should be registered so they are not allowed to ever adopt or obtain animals in the future.
